We had a little extra time on our drive back from a few days in Key West to FLL (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Apt) and went via Miami Beach, along Collins. After a while we started to look for somewhere to eat, but it was mid afternoon on a Monday and a few places that looked decent were closed. When we were close to giving up, we saw the Kings Head Pub and went straight in. (Disclosure: I am a Brit who has lived in the US for 20+ years.)
We went it and talked to the barman/owner and he helped us choose a couple of items off the menu. While we were waiting my wife and I each had an excellent pint of Fullers - clearly well kept and tasty.
We ate the Fish and Chips, a Ploughman's lunch and my son had some chicken tenders (battered not breaded). All the food was excellent, especially the fish and it arrived very quickly.
I wouldn't describe it as cheap, but I would describe it as good value - especially the Ploughman's. Only complaint - my wife was a bit disappointed that the fish and chips came with garden peas rather than mushy peas. But they were nice garden peas.
