“Excellent Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2009

Stayed here overnight prior to next day cruise. And would absolutely stay here again. Great location near airport and cruise port. Very nice hotel. Well maintained, great staff, excellent room. Great hot buffet breakfast (additional cost). Good sea food restaurant next door. Easy driving distance to many other restaurants and shopping. The only thing that confused me was the "free wireless internet" access, it appears to be free only for a day. But since I was only there for a day, what can I say :-).

We booked a cruise out of Miami but had to fly in to Ft. Lauderdale due to the air arrangements we made independent of the cruise line. We called the hotel as soon as we landed and were told to call again as soon as we had retrieved our luggage as their shuttle would only be a few minutes away. As instructed, we called once we had all of our belongings together, waited at the designated post, and was picked up by the shuttle within 5-10 minutes. The trip from the airport to the hotel was only about 10 minutes, tops. The hotel is new, clean and offers a few more ammenities than most of the Courtyards (i.e. lobby bar, mini store featuring snacks, toiletries, etc., customized omelet chef at the breakfast buffet). We were within walking distance of Bass Pro Shops and ate dinner at their adjacent restaurant which was VERY good with generous portions (my husband and I should have split a plate). The hotel lobby features the usual business center but also had an aquarium little kids would probably enjoy. We didn't visit the pool but by the looks of how clean the entire hotel was, I'd think it would be very enjoyable. Bathrooms feature new granite countertops. The only idiosyncracy was the fact that the water appeared to be a tinged yellow as I filled my tub. My husband called the front desk and was told they get calls about the water all the time and it is perfectly safe; the area uses well water that is composed of minerals thus the yellowing. The hotel is right across the street from the TriRail (which we initially planned on using to get to Miami but decided we weren't as ambitious in trying to figure it out as we thought). Our son's friend said it "kept him up at night" but no one else in our group heard it except in the morning hours as we were waking up anyway. I don't really think the TriRail even runs all night long; we realized pretty early on this friend was determined to complain about everything during the entire trip. The lobby area is very busy in the morning but I felt it was a good sign that the hotel has become that popular. Be sure to add the breakfast buffet to your reservation as it is not complimentary. It is worth the expense as it offered quite a variety and kept us satisfied for most of the afternoon.

I booked at a great rate through an third party name your own price site for a one-night stay after a late night flight. Our Garmin GPS easily found the route to the hotel, once it realized we were no longer in New Jersey! We arrived right after midnight and were quickly up to our room and in bed. The room was cool, comfortable, and clean. I appreciated the easy access to the free internet in the lobby - there were 3 or 4 PCs ready to go - plus the free and plentiful parking. Check out was easy and we were on I-95 within 5 minutes of leaving the hotel. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a room close to FLL.

You can't go wrong with a Courtyard Marriott. This was our first time at this one and from our very late check-in (due to our flight delay because of the weather) thru checkout, it was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and the cleaniness of the room each morning was better than expected. The pool was great especially for our little one. We had a blast! It was a very comfortable environment. I highly recommend this hotel.

Convenience beyond belief. Bass Pro Shop is directly behind hotel with Islamorado Restaurant inside. Terrific menu and service at the restaurant.
Hotel had excellent staff in all areas! Rooms were outstanding! Price was great! Rail system in directly in front of hotel which is VERY convenient for traveling in the area!
Highly recommeded!
