“Good Clean Hotel, excellent hotel before and after cruise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2011

Hotel has been updated and is clean. We stayed after the cruise and staff was efficient upon check in and out. The lobby was very nice. A difference in this hotel is that there is free shuttle to and from the Ft. Lauderdale airport, however there is a small cafe in the lobby which is a little pricey but the food was adequate and convenient. There is no free breakfast at the hotel, but it can be purchased. It has a free business center with computers linked to the internet and free printing of boarding passes. The rooms have been updated but with a king size bed, there is only one tv and a small refrigerator, no microwave or kitchen facilities. We stayed here after the cruise and at the Springhill Suites before the cruise. While both were adequate we preferred the Courtyard although the daily rates were higher and they did not have free breakfast in the morning.

Room Tip: Request High floor not facing train station

Enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were very clean, as was the pool area. Staff were very professional. Great location for my one night stay.l

What a gem! After being mislead and treated so poorly by the Hilton Garden Port Everglades about early check in and after viewing how filthy that property was, we made reservations via telephone and decamped to the Marriott Courtyard near by. The desk staff was wonderful and despite our making the reservations only 20 minutes before and despite it being high-season with cruise passengers, got us into our clean, spacious and wonderful room in less than 30 minutes. The desk staff was so nice and understanding about our being exhausted and needing quiet.
We had decided not to rent a car for the day and when we asked them for restaurant suggestions near by, the staff pointed out an interactive computer screen with just about anything we needed to know about the area. We ate at the Bass Pro Shop restaurant next door and had some of the best seafood of our trip. With a 15 percent discount because we were staying at the Marriott! Upon checkout we were given a complimentary ride to the airport and thanked repeatedly for our business.
Listen up Corporate: You have our business from now on because of these fine folks. Hilton: NEVER AGAIN!

Six members of our family stayed at the Courtyard Marriott prior to leaving for a cruise next day. We were picked up at the airport promptly, checked in speedily and received very nice rooms. We had breakfast in the restaurant--very good selection and reasonable. The transport to the cruise terminal was efficient. Nearly everyone staying there was leaving for a cruise, so it could have been chaotic--not so.
We enjoyed walking to the nearby Bass Pro shop and had dinner in the adjoining seafood restaurant--also very clean and nice.

I needed to return to the airport due to a lost item that was recovered. The desk kindly arranged for me to travel on the van which was greatly appreciated. Anytimein the future if we are cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale, we will definitely stay at Courtyard again. My family all recommends this hotel highly.

We were delayed going home because of the weather so we booked this hotel using price line at $90. We arrived at 9 AM and Nadia, the young woman on the desk, found us two rooms, one for us and one for our friends. Our husbands needed to work on line all day and needed a quiet place. Internet is free at this hotel. Nadia also arranged our bill so we could have breakfast upon checkin since we would be on our way home (we hoped) before breakfast would be served on the morning of check out. The rooms are large and well appointed. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean. They have a shuttle to the airport and cruise terminal. This hotel is a great place to stay en-route to vacation or home with a staff that is especially accommodating.

I enjoyed my stay on the night prior to my cruise. They offer a free round-trip shuttle to local eateries because there is nothing much to eat nearby. The fee to the cruise port was under $10/pp. The hotel is beautiful. 2 flat screens in each area worked perfect for my husband and I. Will definitely choose the stay there in the future. Breakfast was also enjoyable.

Picked this hotel because they have a shuttle from the airport and to Port Everglades (for cruise boarding).

Unfortunately, the shuttle service also includes chasing after the bus, yelling for them to stop (even though you called the hotel from the airport and were promised a shuttle), then sitting around in the back of a hot bus for 30 min while it makes several circles around the airport (because someone else called for a pick up AFTER it has left the airport and the driver turned around instead of dropping off the people already on the bus first).

Now, after a bus-chasing exercise, there's nothing like a nice shower and a good night of sleep, right? Not so fast. Shower is a little moldy and your sleep is disturbed by the loud train outside.

So what do you do after chasing the shuttle and getting no sleep? Go downstairs for a nice coffee and breakfast? You wish. Hotel showed me two rates when I was booking it, a basic rate and a second one, $30 more expensive, which included breakfast, so that's the one I picked - thinking that $30 for a nice breakfast for two sounds reasonable.

Well, it turned out that breakfast is not a buffet, typical of other hotels, but a little order-cafe style, where first you stand in a long line (they bring food to you, but they won't take orders at the table), then you order a breakfast place (those range from $5 to $9, so it would've been much less expensive to book a rate without breakfast and then pay for breakfast with cash), then you wait for your food, which arrives completely messed up (regular eggs instead of egg-white, bacon instead of sausage, etc.

To put the final pleasant touch on the stay, the bill at the checkout included high rate AND breakfast charges, after which I had to have a long conversation with the unpleasant front-desk staff, showing them the printed confirmation which listed "room with breakfast included" and asking them not to charge me for breakfast separately. They argued that the rate should've been even higher if breakfast was included (I booked on your own damn website!). Eventually they fixed it, but with a lot of unpleasantness instead of an apology.

NEVER AGAIN! It's back to Hilton for me from now on... even if I have to take a taxi to the airport.
