“One night: great. Two nights: probably not.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

By the time we arrived at Cambria Suites, we had been traveling for over 24 hours. We were told that there was a regular shuttle from the airport, but after waiting for over half an hour, and watching shuttles for other hotels pass by three or four times each, we decided to call the hotel and they did send one eventually. Our suite was excellent: clean, comfortable, and equipped with a delightfully excessive two televisions. That night I had quite possibly one of the top ten greatest showers of my life. Actually, now that I think about it, the bathroom was pretty immaculate in general.

That said: despite the fact that the room was great, the hotel has a glaring downside, and that is the fact that it is incredibly isolated. If you do not have a car, there is very little you can do if you wanted to see, do or eat anything outside the hotel grounds. If we weren't just staying for a night, I would consider it a serious issue, but it is close to both the airport and Port Everglades, so if you just need a quick place to crash while en route to either of these places, Cambria Suites is a pretty good place to do it. There is free wifi, and a continental breakfast, which costs $10 per person, The breakfast is very much run-of-the-mill, but, given the lack of options in the area, you should be prepared to have those tenners ready.

In the end, I suppose the Cambria experience is dependent on what you're using it for. If I were staying for more than one night, I doubt this would be a great choice. But, again, for the one night we were there, it was on the whole enjoyable.

We arrived late at the FLL airport after midnight before our cruise. There was no shuttle available so we had to take taxi to the hotel. At the time of check in, we asked for booking the shuttle for the cruiseport but were told that most of the time slots were full but he would pencil in us for 1.30 pm. The room was nice and spacious. The washroom was nice and clean. Next day, we made a request to the manager that we wanted to go to the cruiseport earlier than 1.30 pm and he was very nice to accomodate us at our preferred time of around 12.30 pm. The shuttle to the cruiseport is at a nominal cost of $ 5.00 per person.
The breakfast is not free. For a cover charge of $ 10.00 per person, it could be better.
Overall the hotel is little pricey but nice and we would stay again.

Room Tip: If you want to book the shuttle for the cruiseport at a certain time, you should call in in advance...

We arrived after a very long travel journey with our 2 kids. They have very spacious rooms, are close to the airport - and the person at the frontdesk was really friendly and helpful. Even at 2 am in the morning. Perfect.

Room was very clean, had free wlan, multiple tv's and all this for a good price. Would come again.

Selected the Cambria Suites Ft. Lauderdale based on their website information and my need for a hotel room before a cruise as well as transportation to and from dock. I found the hotel staff friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Accommodations were first-rate. Transportation to the dock was on time, and the driver was friendly and helpful. Return transportation after the cruise was equally good although somewhat delayed. Overall cruise package price includes parking your car at the hotel while on a cruise, which beats staying at a hotel and parking at the garage at the port. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again for another cruise.

Very nice hotel in a great location close to the airport. My family stayed here overnight on our way back from the bahamas and found it very welcoming. There is shopping and restaurants close by. The front desk service was very good.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on a pre or post vacation stay.

Very clean and very convenient to the airport and cruise terminal. I guess the location is what you're paying for. The rooms are spacious and clean. I was put in a handicapped room (didn't need that) so I can vouch for the space involved in the room and bathroom. Not sure about a regular room. For as much as we paid, I felt like "breakfast being included" should've been......I've stayed at other hotels in this line and it always has been. I was disappointed that it wasn't, especially for the price. We ate dinner there the night before and I felt like it was a good menu with decent prices on the food. I prefer staying at places where they throw breakfast in, especially when you spend that much. (I didn't book this hotel - my travel agent did and she thought it was included).

We have stayed here twice in 2012 and will stay here again when we go to Ft. Lauderdale for some shopping trips. Close to airport, shopping and some good restaurants..Nice homemade breakfast in the mornings that my husband loves. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
