“Best Ever”

We came on a Living Social coupon.....but we would gladly pay $100 a person to return. The lady who runs this place is a wonderful. We wish she had a national animal show. Her knowledge of animals is amazing. Actually she and her husband run the place and they have so much to offer. In 2009 we went on a 10 day safari in southern Africa and this place equaled it. They also sell organic free range eggs and grass fed beef.

“A Great Day Trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

My husband and I visited Giraffe Ranch for the first time today and had riotous fun! The owners were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The enclosures for the animals were immaculate and well maintained. You can tell these owners love their animals as family. We enjoyed feeding lemurs and giraffes and visiting with camels, zebras, ostriches, warthogs, etc. if your children have ever seen the movie, Madagascar, they would be in their element viewing these beautiful, exotic African animals. We will definitely go back!

“a safari experience in Florida”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Excellent guided jeep safari experience with highly educated and fun owners/operators of the ranch. Feed giraffes and for $$$ take the safari on camel back, or feed the lemurs (in my opinion neither of the upgrades is worth it, the admission prices are hefty enough).

“Another Hidden Gem for Animal Lovers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We're residents of Tampa and are always on the lookout for new places to visit where we can interact with animals. The Giraffe Ranch did not disappoint!

It's a little tricky to find so follow the directions provided by the ranch to the letter and unplug your GPS (ours led us astray - as usual).

We arrived to a warm welcome and a little educational session on some of the animals that reside at the ranch. At this point, some folks opted to take camel rides and others fed the lemurs. (We did both and it was well worth the additional cost -- it's truly a lifetime memory!)

You can take a short stroll through some of the enclosures and see the world's fastest monkey, a great tortoise, birds, lemurs, bunnies and more.

Next we boarded the safari vehicles and set out on our trip. The park has a number of vehicles and it's really nice because each one holds about 15-20 people at the most so you don't feel crowded at all. The guides drive the vehicles and explain each animal and tell interesting stories and facts. The guides LIVE here so this isn't just a theme park job for them, this is their lives.

We got to feed giraffes and it was awesome! They poke their heads right in the vehicle to get a snack from you -- and it makes for a neat interaction and wonderful photos. We also saw hippos, rhinos, warthogs and more. Zebras come right up to the vehicle to say hello! The best part is that the whole time, all kinds of animals are just roaming around, coming and going and you're right in the middle of things.

This is a good trip for couples, families, kids, classes and would even work as a business outing.

Recommendations: bring a hat and shades, wear sunscreen, bring a bottle or two of water, and of course - bring your camera. Also, they don't take credit cards so bring some cash. Finally, if you have small kids, you may want to bring a snack or two and some wet wipes for their little hands. The park has restrooms and hand sanitizer and they are diligent about reminding folks to wash their hands after animal interactions.

Finally, they have a nice little gift shop loaded with shirts, stuffed animals, knick-knacks, etc. You can also purchase farm fresh eggs there for $4 a dozen. I saw a few cold drinks for sale as well. Again - cash only.

We've been to a ton of attractions in Florida and this one is in our top 5 list. If you're in Orlando, Tampa, or anywhere in the region, consider adding this as a day trip. It's worth it.

This is such a beautiful and fun sanctuary. Kids of any age will love learning about these animals and feeding them. We loved every minute of it! Amazing place ;)
