“Take a boat tour, wonderful”

The boat tours, including the sunset tours are excellent. Wonderful place to bring company visiting the area to enjoy the wildlife.

“to many rules and regs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

we found it hard to get to places for good photos... seems they want everybody to stay in areas they make it hard to see wildlife , they need to set up observation buildings and stands to get people into better positions to see the wildlife withoout disturbing them...

“Nice little park”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

If you are in Crystal River and have some time to fill up take a drive over to the preserve. It is a very pretty park and you might seem some wildlife. Otherwise, don't make a special trip for it.

“We enjoyed our day in Crystal River but following a trail proved tricky!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

My wife and I spent the day at the Crystal River Preserve State Park. We started off at the visitors' centre. There was ample parking, picnic tables and clean rest rooms. We collected some leaflets but there was no-one to ask about the trails. After taking a few photographs, we pulled into a small parking lot on the approach road to the visitors' centre. We tried to follow a trail, but there were no signs about which route to take, We came across a fishing hole, but we felt we were likely to get lost if we went any further. We then went to the nature trail about 2 miles away on N. Tallahassee Road. There was a 2 mile loop trail there. We walked the trail. It was interesting to walk through different habitats although vistas were far and few between.

“Bike Trip - Trails Are Hard!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Park advertised a 7 mile bike trail. Six of us started out at the parking lot and about 1/4 mile in realized the only thing that made it a trail was that others had gone before us. The road was rutty, muddy, sloped, grassy (at one time we were riding in a meadow). it was hard to enjoy the surroundings as we had to keep our eyes on the road. It took us about 1.5 hours to do the loop and we are all experienced bikers,,,,very hard going. BUT if you like a challenge this is a trail for you! I wouldn't go when it has been raining.
