A more than elegant hotel with an exceptionally friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, inexplicably located in the middle of no-where, with nothing to do unless you have your own reason to be there (or I suppose you golf, which I do not). Hopefully they do a lot of conferences and weddings, otherwise the place will be without a purpose. It is 2 minutes from the Sawgrass expwy, for access to Boca, Ft. Laud, down to Hollywood, and if driving an hour is ok, Miami, too.
The staff is very friendly and the place is immaculate. The carpets look new. The rooms are very nice, with an extra large vanity in the bathroom. Bedding is on the high end. Housekeeping is flawless (however, see my point below). Of course, it is a hotel, so you get the boring usual furniture: bed(s), night table, desk, upholstered chair, amoire with tv. The hotel industry is kind of stuck in this need for everyone to get the same things in every room.
The pool is a nice size, but it is closely surrounded by an ornamental fence and high landscaping, so you never feel like you are somewhere special. The pool is a large sleep inducing rectangle. That's a big shame. The pool area is surrounded by lounge chairs as if lined up by an efficiency expert. No imagination at all in the pool area layout for what could have been something special.
The free parking is right outside the front door, so there is no pressure to valet.
The one time we asked the room be cleaned at a particular time, it got done with no further asking.
The hotel does so many things well, you hate to point out the inadequacies:
(1) Ironing board and iron, coffee pot, and they'll give you a small refrig, yet no in-room lock box for valuables (so you go to the pool and yet housekeeping will be in your room soon, do you take your wallet and cash to the pool?);
(2) the tvs are regular picture tube and I was disappointed the channels did not include cspan (true!) and the tv or the local cable carrier has an annoying practice of significantly jacking up the volume for commercials;
(3) the workout room is nice (it has a large flat screen tv, and individual ones at the stations), but needs a scale;
(4) the lobby level is very nicely decorated. Heaven forbid the bar ever gets crowded at night. This is because the hotel is basically rooms surrouding an open atrium, and no doubt it would interfere with every guests' sleep (but not a problem for us, the place was near empty); and
(7) the hotel lacks a casual eating restaurant for something simple, but you can order through the bar and the offering is fine and again, the staff is very nice.
I would definitely stay here again if I need to be in Coral Springs.
Our one and only problem: the toilet never worked. We told the front desk every day. They always offered to move us but we didn't take them up on it (In retrospect, I should have, and asked for an upgrade, but we just wanted it fixed). They always said they'd get it fixed, and every evening we'd come in and it still didn't work. If we had raised a commotion about it, they would have realized it was not being given the right attention. I should not have to get mad or raise my voice at a Marriott. So the last day, I told the manager the problem, and they made an adequate accomodation. Still no substitute for fixing something when it was told to them four days in a row.
