“Expensive mediocre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

et me start out by saying I stay at aLOT of hotels. This one was beautiful with valet parking 27$ a day or self park 20$ day. I know that's pretty standard for Miami but...when you are paying $300+ a night seems kind of lousy .we had a pretty standard room even at that price. 2 beds (not even queen size). The room looked about the same as my standard Hampton inn just more expensive and no coffee in the lobby or free breakfast. We had this lovely patio that we had to SHARE with 2 other rooms. And on the night we were there a loud wedding was outside our window until after 10:30. The pool was perfect and the gym was nice the HOT TUB however was smaller than the one in my backyard. There was no shuttle but they hailed cabs frequently. So for two night stay with the parking it cost 663$...ouch

The hotel in general is nice and the location is great. Rooms were a little outdated, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Air conditioning could have been a little quieter, but unfortunately most of the hotels seem to no longer maintain the units as they can. Based on location and room I could have moved over to 4 stars maybe, but two items bugged me.
One: During check up we asked for some recommendations for a nice dinner in walking distance. The hostess pulled out a sheet/map and in glowing terms recommended two restaurants. We walked to both only to find out that both were bars not restaurants and very very noisy (one offered a seat at the bar, the other one was already overflowing and had 3 police officers outside for crowd and sidewalk control. After a long flight we were looking for a sit down dinner/nice place, not a crowded bar. As we had mention this to the hostess, it was a big disappointment.
Two: The hotel charges enough money for the rooms and food. And I understand the mini bar is a money maker. But pls, do they have to charge 6 Dollar plus tax (or 7.09 total) for a bottle of water. Most hotels at least offer a vending machine on each floor, but this one not even that. Ice yes, but that's it. I hate to be nickel and dimed but this is highway robbery.

Room Tip: watch out for extra charges.

Great location, near MM and restaurants. Easy to downtown Miami. What you would expect from a Hyatt, clean rooms, pool, and exercise room. Has a old world hotel feel, but is very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is also good.

The location of this hotel is just perfect. In my case I needed a hotel close enough to the airport that would give me the possibility of visiting the Miracle Mile area for one day. The service at the hotel was very good. I got an up-grade for a junior suite considering they had no king beds available on the regular ones. Having tea at the main lobby was quite an experince and we enjoyed looking at the luxury plus old fashioned decore, the piano event and the excellent service from the staff. I will definitely consider this hotel when visiting the area again.

I traveled here on business and the location, meeting rooms, fitness center were all great. The location was perfect as it was within walking distance to the Miracle Mile which provided many great options for dining out.
The pool area was nice but the sun was not shining so no one was utilizing it and the bar area did not seem to be open.
The rooms were very nice. The hotel staff was extremely friendly with greeting everyone and catering to whatever requests were made.
The only negative thing I will say about this hotel is that their in house restaurant was not good at all. The service was quite slow and the food was terrible.
The location made up for it as it gave many outside options for dining that saved the day.

The rooms were clean and very pretty. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. We were also able to park in the meters and save $24 a day on parking.

We had a pool view room. I would highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, luxury and location.

After a nine hour flight from London and a two hour queue to get through Miami Airport immigration we eventually arrived at the hotel, exhausted, for a one night stay prior to joining a cruise ship. We were greeted by the wonderful welcome and smile of Richard on reception. What a difference that makes to two tired people! Shortly afterwards we were served food in the bar by the very friendly and helpful Brad. Our brief experience of the hotel impressed us immensely. We had a super large room with a couch and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast the following morning - our first in the USA - was excellent. Sorry our stay was so brief!

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive comments regarding our staff at the reception and the bar area. It is always a pleasure to hear that you were impressed by the excellent service offered by Richard and Brad during your first stay in the US. Also, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed our oversize guestroom and our breakfast the following morning. Your appreciation was forwarded to the Executive management at the hotel. Hope to welcoming you in the near future.
