“LUNCH AT FRANCESCO”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

We returned to Francesco for taking a lunch in which we order Ceviche Mixed, Causa Peruana and Lomo Saltado, accompanied by the house wine. For dessert we ordered Suspiro Limeño. We had to call attention to missing silverware; except for this, everything was satisfaction. The quality of the food is excellent. It is always very rewarding to return to this restaurant.

“Real Peruvian Food. A seafood festival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

If you don't have an idea about Preruvian food, this is a place to start. Excellent peruvian food fit for everyone. If you like fish and seafood you must go. Cilantro soup is a most. Always ask for the specisl of the day. Any dish with passion fruit sause is excellent. Wine list isn't big, but have good variaty with good price

“Authentic Peruvian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The variety of food here is amazing, and the quality of every item was fabulous. I am relatively new to Peruvian Cuisine, but the other diners in our party were impressed with the authenticity. The Ceviche' was full of complex flavors, but the Pumpkin Ravioli texture and flavor was amazing. For Miami, and especially Coral Gables, the prices were reasonable, but not inexpensive.. Well worth it, however.

“Excellent cuisine, service and wine selection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

My husband and I always select this restaurant when we want a special meal in a charming atmosphere. Nice white linens and good quality wine glasses. We have never been disappointed in the menu. The scallops for starters are amazing and the corvina in an orange sauce was fantastic. Savored coupons make the meal very reasonable. Probably too small for loud children.

“Not worth the price...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Had dinner there last night expecting an amazing Peruvian culinary experience, I was very, very disappointed. The Lomo Saltado was average and the seafood entrees (Oriental Salmon and Rice with Seafood) of the other three guests were the same. We had the "Torta de Nueces" and the Lucuma Mouse as dessert. The Torta was very good, but the mouse was very grainy, almost felt as though you were eating cold grits. Also for the price, this was completely not worth it. I travel to Lima very frequently and recently moved to Miami from New York. La Cofraida, which is another Peruvian restaurant in Miami (also in Coral Gables) is incredibly better for the price. The other thing is that I'm not sure if this "Francesco" is related to the original Francesco in Lima - I seriously doubt it. Hopefully, La Mar (the best Peruvian restaurant in the world) will continue its plans to open a South Florida location in 2013. In short, the best thing about Francesco is the music (a cello player) and not the food - I wouldn't go there again.
