“The best brisket... ever.”
My business partner and I recently hosted a group of 8 on a Sunday evening here. The staff handled our large party seemingly effortlessly. We sat at the communal table, in the center of the restaurant, which I highly recommend. The table is set at bar height; the seats are bar stools. We had the feeling of being in the heart of the restaurant.
The restaurant's theme of "Run Pig Run" describes how I felt after leaving. Our group of eight ordered (and ate) enough for 12. Everything was just so good, we didn't want to to stop, well after we should have.
Some of the highlights include the smoked brisket. By far, this is the most tender and flavorful brisket I have eaten. Having grown up in an area where many local joints claim to have the best brisket around, the brisket here by far surpasses any I've eaten. it was so tender, it fell apart and could have been eaten with a spoon. The portion was way too small for our group, so we ordered two more of them. Even at that, eight people got about 3 small forkfulls each.
As for portion sizes in general, all were on the small size. If you are really hungry, don't expect to get filled up without ordering several side dishes.
The crispy brussel sprouts live up to their name; crunchy and delicious.
The kale salad here seems very similar (if not identical) to the kale salad served in this restaurant's sister restaurant (Yardbird), although I would order it each time in either place.
The decor of the restaurant includes firewood stacked high in several locations, which contributes to a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
