After a morning at Vizcaya, we decided to lunch at the Fontana Mediterranean restaurant located on the ground floor of the Biltmore Hotel. There was a definite 'wow' factor as the door opened onto a hacienda style courtyard, with large palm trees, plants and a beautiful central fountain.
The waitress, Hilda, was friendly, efficient and made good recommendations. We asked for a family photo after our meal and she posed us in front of the fountain for a lovely photograph. A real character, who contributed to our memorable lunch.
The food was excellent, from the breadbasket with four different types of bread, each nicer than the last, to the Burrata salad (Caprese),which consisted of the best mozzarella I've ever had the pleasure of eating, creamy and textured, along with juicy tomatoes and roast peppers to the freshly made pasta, followed by a proper expresso macchiato and accompanied by perfectly chilled white wine and Panna water.
