Is it a fine upscale steakhouse? Is it a family restaurant for kids? Is it a sports bar? Is it a party place? Its all three - making each unpleasant.
The good news - the food is pretty good and the service was great - but it is not cheap - figure an appetizer, entree, desert and coffee will run you about $50 pp. For that, you would expect some decent ambiance. But no - on one side of you are crying kids (they have a kid menu); crayons rolling around on the floor; in front of you is huge bar with TVs showing various sports events with a loud bar crowd and behind you is a party "area" (not enclosed for a private (loud) group. Add that this is just a reopened Bar (Jake's - which failed) and you get a TGI Fridays crowds with Shula's prices. It may be just the thing for some - but for elegant dining - no way.
