“Adequate Hotel”

Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach

As has been noted in previous reviews, this hotel is not directly on the ocean, but several of the rooms have nice views of the water -- ask for a room with a view. The walkway to the beach is convenient and well maintained. The walk takes less than 3 minutes. The beach is wide and welcoming and beach walks are easy in both directions.
Our room was standard Hampton Inn fare. The hotel is well maintained, but there are small signs of wear, particularly in the bathroom. I found the staff to be friendly and ready to be of service. There are limited interior corridors at this property -- most rooms open to an exterior hall, but security did not seem to be a problem. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor's Center is a 30 minute ride from the hotel.

More than adequate hotel. We had a king suite room which gave a little extra room. Staff very helpful and courteous. "Free" breakfast was good though I've never seen perfectly round scrambled eggs before. And the toasters would never heat up enough to toast anything. The only other negative was the poolside lounge chairs-- they will really hurt your back. All in all, a nice hotel for the money and I'd definitely go back.

We went to several restaurants. Highly recommend the Heidelberg for couples-- not a place for kids. Also liked the Italian place on Rt 520 (forgot the name). More informal and LOTS of good food.

“Not the best Hampton Inn”

We stayed here 1 night prior to a cruise departing out of Port Canaveral. I am a Gold Hilton Honors member and was disappointed with my stay. First it was 30 degrees that night and the heat was not working properly so we had to bundle up. The room showed some wear & tear and could use so new carpet. I also was surprised that the hampton inn had the doors to the rooms outside, normally they are inside. This made the room even colder that night. The breakfast was the basic hampton breakfast, free internet, but it was not wireless. Pool area was nice, room had a nice balcony with 2 chairs & table.

The best part of the room was that for the rate of the hotel, we were able to leave our car there for the week for free, saving the parking fee at the port. However, it was a $40 taxi ride to the hotel from the pier since we didn't sign up for the hotel's $4pp shuttle.

In October 2005, we stayed at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. We had a beautiful view of the ocean! The room was big enough for the three of us and it included a small balcony. We had 2 Queen beds. They offered a great continental breakfast in the morning and they also arranged for us to get transportation (Al's Shuttle @ 4.00 per person each way) to our cruise ship. Just ask them to call Al's for you. They allowed us to keep our car on their property for 7 days at no charge whatsoever! We have stayed there two years in a row and we already have reservations for September 2006 when we go cruising again! This hotel is worth the price (approx.$110.00)!

I stayed 5 days for business at NASA. The hotel has some wear such as rust on the bathroom door and a clogged second sink. Whoever called the swimming pool "nice" needs to take a closer look. There was a lot of dirt on the bottom by the drains. The water was so cloudy when illuminated by the pool lights at night it looked like soup!
