“Good Location, Nice View”

Best Western Ocean Beach Hotel

We stayed here April 25th to the 28th, 2007. We stayed on the 5th floor with an Oceanview. In the room we had two beds, microwave, fridge and balcony. The room was average. The big seller of course was the balcony...beautiful view. We were close to the Pier, which was nice. There is also a Publix grocery store within walking distance of the hotel. We stocked up on ceral, drinks, fruit, etc. The beach infront of the hotel was nice and clean. We like the pool too and we hung at the pool everyday. It was a nice size and was never overly packed. The security was great too. You need a room key to access the pool, the hotel and the elevator. The only thing that was different about the hotel was that the lobby was not connected to the hotel. Also, one day our room didn't get cleaned and we had to call to make sure it got cleaned the following day. While in Cocoa Beach we took a ride out to Kennedy Space Center, which was only a 30 minute drive. We were going to go in until we realized it was going to cost us $170US to get the lowest price package - so we didn't go. No biggie. Instead we went to Grills in Port Canaveral. It was packed and we had to wait a bit but the food was great. The food at the Pier was good too, we ate their twice and had a great view of the beach, surfer and the pelicans. Overall, the hotel was great, I think I made a good choice staying here. The location was great. Just watch if you book online. The lady in the front tried to charge me a different price and I had to advise her on check in and check out of the prices that I got online. I would stay here again.

This was the first time we stayed at cocoa beach,we made a very good decision to stay at the best western oceanfront hotel. We were in the ocean view rooms on the third floor and not the ocean front rooms that look directly at the ocean, but we still had a nice view of the water and an awsome view of the pier, which is only walking distance away along the beach. The pier is a lot of fun, they had a band playing music at one of the bars. This hotel is a good choice, I have read some of the bad reviews, so ask for a nice room.My wife and I and the two teenage girls all had a super nice room and the staff was very nice.We will stay at this hotel again if we are in this area.

We started with a room in the courtyard, which is two story buildings facing each other. We had to move to the tower because the sound carries pretty clearly between rooms that have a connecting interior door. Wouldn't stay in the courtyard again with a room that has a connecting door. Ask before you go. But they moved us to the tower building for the same price and the room was very nice and quiet and it had a balcony on the beach. Very nice location. The pier is very close to the hotel. (The food at the pier is so-so.) The hotel (like others) isn't directly on the beach. There's a short yard and then an area of low shrubs and then the sand. Maybe 50, 60 feet from bldg to sand. Nice little wooden bridges cross over the shrub area.
As has been mentioned, the lobby/check in office is a small building as you come in. Then there are the courtyard bldgs. Last is the tower bldg closest to the beach. None of these bldgs is connected. So it's about a block from the towers to the breakfast area/office. The office is small but nice. And they have one comp for free internet access.
Locationwise is good. Cape Kennedy isn't too far (very nice outing to go to.) and the port for the cruise ships is only a little north, too. You can see Kennedy from the beach out front.
By the way, about the Suncruz casino cruise boat. It's 5 hrs long and it really is free. You don't have to gamble. There was one entertainer, who only played for a total of about 1.5 hrs. The buffet is $10 (so-so quality). There are 5 cent, 25 cent and up slot machines. There are four floors of areas (slots, bacarat, blackjack, craps, roulette, poker tournaments). We are not gamblers and it was a long, long 5 hrs. Wouldn't go again. But if you gamble it wouldn't be bad, I guess.
The toll road from Orlando (528) takes about 45 min and costs about $1.25 one way. Not bad. You could stay in Cocoa Beach and reach the Orlando stuff easily. Where the 528 hits the Interstate 5 in Orlando is where Universal is, and Disney is about 10 mi south on the I 5.

“convenient and pleasant”

Stayed 3 nights intending to see rocket launch, which was postponed. Pity, because this would be a great location to see a launch!.However, hotel is a great location on the beach, a 100 metres from the pier. The room seemed an older one but had excellent facilities - including fridge, microwave. Complimentary internet access in the lobby - also great complimentary breakfast in the lobby. Nice pool and bar attached made for a relaxing time.
Adjacent, there is a Durango's Steak House, and a Perkins Family restaurant and bakery. Opposite, across the A1A is a shopping centre with a Publix supermarket and a variety of takaway restaurants. Also, if you are of the pursuasion, there is a Catholic Church a few hundred metres along the A1A.
Staff were brilliant, check in and out was efficient. Pool bar staff friendly. A downside was that the sound insulation from the rooms on the upper floor was poor. If staying again, I would opt for an upper floor.
