“Excellent choice in Cocoa Beach”

Best Western Ocean Beach Hotel

The Best Western Resort is not the Ritz or Four Seasons, but it is an attractive, well run, friendly and well maintained complex located oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. My room was in the "older" buildings ( not direct oceanfront ) and it appeared to have been recently renovated. The room was spotless, had two very comfortable queen beds, there was a microwave, coffeemaker, hair dryer and mini frig all in great working order. The TV was new and received over 40 channels. It's a very short walk to the beach. The Cocoa Beach pier is just south of the hotel beach and there are several restaurants in all price ranges within walking distance of the hotel. It's obvious to me that this place is very well run by owners who care about the property. The grounds are very attractive and well maintained, and there is ample parking throughout the complex. I paid $103 per night for my room and felt that I certainly got my money's worth. I highly recommend the Cocoa Beach Best Western Resort for a stay in the Space Coast area.

We've stayed in several Cocoa Beach hotels/resorts and this one rates somewhat higher for value. It's very nice to have the small kitchen and refrigerator/microwave for simple breakfasts or lunches.

The resort isn't necessarily top dog; it's a pool, shuffleboard (game equipment is no where to be found), outdoor lounge, a small children's play area and the beach. But if you're into hard-core surf and sun, it doesn't matter and you shouldn't have to pay for things you don't use. The only beachfront rooms are those in the multi-story tower closer to the beach.

Our room was clean, but well worn. The linens were clean, beds passibly comfortable. There wasn't a hint of mildew or that mildew/mold smell that we've smelled in other hotels around Cocoa Beach. Some improvements to the room were mystifying; an ill-fitting tub and shower insert and possibly the lowest sitting toilet on the planet. The cable TV service is poor in number of channels and the overall reception. The good news here is that it's not really the hotel's fault since the same cable company services the resort we stayed at in Orlando subsequent to this stay and it was horrible there too.

There's plenty of noise from adjoining rooms either from slamming doors, foot traffic, the air conditioner or TVs/radios blaring through walls. The Best Western is located just a block from the Cocoa Beach Pier, which means there's a lot of non-hotel guests around the beach. The beach seemed to be a lot dirtier here; litter, bottles, cups and a lot of cigarette butts in the sand.

The pool is well-kept. Sand brought in from inconsiderate guests who visit the beach first without showering off is removed at least on a daily basis. Unfortunately, it seems the bartenders at the Veranda lounge like to play their music quite loud and it's a little distracting while sitting at the pool. Towels are provided at the pool free of charge. The chairs and lounges around the pool are comfortable and in good working order.

Best Western offers free broadband internet access at a lot of its hotels, but here it is limited to a wireless connection in the lobby. There is however, a computer that you can use if you don't want to bring your own laptop.

Overall, an average stay that permitted affordable beach and fun in the sun.

We just came over from Orlando to spend the 4th of July on the beach. We got an oceanfront room with a balcony and were lucky enough to check in at noon. We were able to watch the Shuttle launch from the balcony and then watch the fireworks.

The staff at checkin were incredible. They made me feel like I was very special. I got an invitation to a cocktail party in a meeting room, but didn't make it. The room was average (clean, bed was comfortable, and it had nice pictures on the wall), but it was oceanfront with a refrigerator and microwave, which I wasn't expecting and the price was great.

After the launch I hung out at the pool for a few hours. They have a great pool bar and grill. The guy there was great as well. One of my sons had friends from Orlando that were at the beach, by the pier, and he met them. The hotel is right by the pier, which is the hot spot in town. There are restaurants, shops and fishing there.

My kids went down to the beach to watch the fireworks, but I was in my pajamas so I sat on my balcony and watched them. They were put on by Ron Jons and were good, but way too short. They lasted about 13 and 1/2 minutes. I know that because I taped them.

I go to Cocoa Beach all the time. We go for the day alot because it is about 45 minutes away. Several times we have stayed in a condo so we could stay a week. Since this was the 4th of July I wanted to spend the night. This is the first time I have stayed in a hotel in Cocoa.

I have alway looked at the Best Western when I went to the beach and said I would stay there if I were only staying one day and I am thankful that I did. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for the great location and the wonderful staff. They have courtyard rooms which looked very nice, they were closer to the pool. (and a lot cheaper). I just wanted to be beachfront for the fireworks.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our school's spring break. It was a great place to stay. The room that we recieved was a double with an efficiacy. It was comfortable for the amount of time that we stayed in the room. The pool and surrounding area was comfortable. We enjoyed the pool in the morning and later in the evening. The beach are was clean and the water cool and refreshing.
The staff was wonderful and helpful with any information that we needed. They tried their best to accommodate us and made us feel really welcomed.
The only thing that was wrong with this vacation was the fact that we had to go back home. We had a great time and will definitely be going back to this hotel in the future.

We only stayed here one night so we could pick up the in-laws from the Disney Cruise. This motel is very nice. The pool area was clean, fairly quite with just a bit of music playing, small towels to use and a concession area. Overall it was quite nice. The room we had (126) was on the small side but very nicely decorated. It had a micro wave and a frig. The bath was clean and the toiletries were displayed nicely. I was impressed. I was not expecting this motel to be so nice. I would stay here again. I didn't get to talk to any of the staff but it didn't take long for my husband to check-in or out. So they must be good at their jobs.
