“Great Selection of Early Bird entrees”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Arrived 5 PM, Nov. 30, Sat.; light early bird crowd, but it picked up at 6PM; service by Robert was excellent; attentive to all our requests and needs. Salmon perfect; fried shrimp & crab cake combo, great, and my garlic shrimp with tomatoes over linguini was as tasty and plentiful as Robert recommended. My only regret was not asking for Parmesan Cheese to sprinkle over it....had enough leftover, to take home. Of course the corn fritters, sprinkled with Confectioner's Sugar was the high lite, as usual...we ordered an extra serving! We were here in Sept, you will note that review. The Clam Chowder was really chock full of "goodies", and much better this time. Robert made us a fresh pot of coffee, and our friend who ordered Pepsi, said it was the best ever! The only negative this time, and this is why I didn't give them a 5-star rating, two of us got the vanilla ice cream, it tasted funny, like it had too much vanilla flavoring and we couldn't eat it. Mom ordered her usual Tapioca, but she received the vanlla ice cream by mistake, and couldn't eat it ; I had my usual sugar-free butter pecan ice cream and it was terrific, full of nuts. We were in a hurry at this point so we didn't ask for a substitute, but I'm sure management would have made it right. We sat indoors at a booth with a view of the Banana River, and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous; several customers went outside to take pictures, and a few actually braved the chilly winds and ate outside. This is one of our favorite places to eat. The kids enjoy feeding the Koi in the ponds at the front entrance, and it's fun just to watch them too.

“Florida Dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

We recently went to the Lobster Shanty for the first time. We were looking for a place to dine outside. We went for lunch and really enjoyed the riverside dining. The view was great but we had to be mindful of the birds and wasps. We ordered from the selection of entrees that include your drink and dessert. We all enjoyed our lunches. Our service was good and the setting very relaxing but the restaurant wasn't very busy. The regular menu selections are a bit pricey but with the fixed price selections we will be back.

“Very disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Arrived Saturday at 7:30 pm Noticed very empty, Had to ask if someone was seating after waiting for at least 5 mins. Very nice view and setting on river. Ordered garlic shrimp and was tasteless, lots of garlic in bowl but no flavor, pasta was overcooked. Shrimp were ok but flavorless. My wife ordered med rare filet and came out raw. Waiter smirked when we questioned him and was very unprofessional. Red lobster has better seafood and service. This was our first and last time we will eat here, warning this place is way overpriced. We live south of here and have much better restaurants to choose from. I will say the free cole slaw was the best thing we ate here. This place had better change owners or get a facelift or its never going to last another year. Too bad

“Good Seafood!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

We stopped for an early dinner. We decided to eat indoors. The view of the Banana River was nice. The service was very good. I ordered the grilled lobster and shrimp. The lobster was very good, but the grilled shrimp was excellent! The corn fritters were good too! We plan to return the next time we visit Cocoa Beach! But, next time I want to sit outside on the deck at sunset!

“Lots of great flavors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Very pretty area to dine outside. Watching the sun set on the Banana River with the sea gaul and egrets was very pretty. Even took some nice photos. We felt the menu had some good choices so that you could taste several items. However also felt the sticker shock as we felt they are over priced. The 5 different fish/seafood items on my captains plate for $22 did not include the salad which I had to pay another $3. My before dinner daiquiri $7 was good but not that spectacular, Yes we were on vacation and could have got up and walked out but for one night we felt it met the reason we were there. Relaxing time away from home and chilling out. The odds of returning again, not too likely. Just can't afford a dinner that cost more than my weekly grocery bill. If its good tasting food you are looking for and money is not a problem, then your dinner experience will be well rounded and meet your needs. Ask for Rich to be your waiter. He will take care of your table as if you are the only customer in the restaurant. He deserves a good tip as he will treat you well.
