“Great food presented with theatrical flair and impeccable service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We revisited the Fat Snook during our annual visit to Cocoa. The redecorated interior is intimate, quirky, stylish and unobtrusive. We were shown to our table by Heath our waiter, who provided us with a professional commentary of the nuances and characteristics of each dish. This was beautifully done, and helped us to make informed choices about our courses whilst heightening our anticipation as to the quality of the food. - We were not disappointed.

We both opted for catch of the day. My partner selected number one and I selected number two. Both dishes were excellent, beautifully cooked and artistically presented. We chose a lovely Shiraz from the wine list which complemented our food perfectly. Although neither of us would normally opt for a desert, we succumbed to the key lime pie which was outrageously good!

This restaurant puts so much effort into the whole dining experience, that it is important to not overlook the small, but important touches that make it so good. Firstly, the waiting staff excel at welcoming customers and explaining the menu and its individual dishes in an engaging and professional manner. Secondly, the tiny bowls of soup offered as an aperitif are a nice gesture which sets the tone for further courses. Lastly, and importantly the attentiveness of waiting staff is praiseworthy. However, on both occasions when have visited the restaurant, a waiter removed the plate of one of our party when not everyone else was finished. - Being from the UK we found this practice odd and uncomfortable as we do not expect that in a high quality restaurant.

The restaurant is not cheap and is quite expensive. However, we think that it is fairly priced for the quality of food and the very high standard of service.

Well done all at the Fat Snook. We look forward to visiting again next year!

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Decor was nice, staff attentive for the most part but it was very noisy, the music was too loud and the lighting too soft. We had to use the fake candles at our table to read our menus. The scallops were very good but the shrimp had a chemical after-taste similar to the non filtered water found in the area.

“Very Expensive, but impeccable service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

If you plan on eating here, plan on bringing a couple hundred dollars. Once you can get over that fact, you will be eating the most delicious food you've ever touched. Additionally, the place is very small and intimate. Your server is YOUR server, not you and twenty other table's server.

“Great New Year's Eve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We enjoyed a lovely New Year's Eve Dinner--I made reservations late, and I was still able to get 2 spots at the bar. The food was amazing--the blue crab appetizer special and wine special were delicious. Our server was very helpful, attentive but not bothersome. My husband and I both enjoyed a different fish special and both were fabulous. The portion sizes were perfect, and we also loved the fabulous desserts and coffee, too. Because it was our anniversary, we were treated to some of the chef's homemade limoncello! Definitely an evening to remember.

“Expectations Not Met”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

The Fat Snook came with unanimous "best restaurant" ratings from a number of local sources. This in fact may be the case but we found it to be over-done. The food seemed fresh and of high quality but all of their preparations were way too rich, too sweet for our taste. The chef should put the sugar away for awhile. We also found the service to be pretentious, even obsequious. The place shouldn't try to be so cool.
