We have been traveling to Cocoa Beach for 5 years and Bernard's is a MUST(Thanks to Jerry at the Inn at Cocoa Beach-we miss you being there)!!!!! Our trip usually falls around my birthday and on our first trip to the beach my boyfriend wanted to take me somewhere special so we took Jerry's advice and have been going ever since.
I always start my meal off with a caesar salad prepared table side (it is the best), and I have tried a new entree every trip and have never once been disappointed. And be sure to save room for the Peppered Strawberries or Bananas Foster (both prepared table side). Not only does it make for a great presentation but they melt in your mouth. And a mean gene is a perfect night cap. When you order it be sure to ask if Mean Gene is working-his flare with the flames is amazing. (But not to worry others are good at making they just dont have the way with the flame). It is a little on the pricey side but is well worth every penny. We have made many memories and will continue to make them every February when we visit. See you soon-my mouth is already watering.

We have been going to Bernard's surf for about 5 yrs now. We visist every Feb for the month. Just found out this year that the food comes from the same kitchen and is much cheaper on the Pub side. We visited there this year and tried both sides. No difference in food quality. Actually, service is better on the Pub side. More relaxed and more fun.

This place is really 2 different restaurants...one more formal & the other more of pub-restaurant.

Three of us locals went there a week-ago Friday for dinner. We opted for the formal side, as one of us had a hectic day at work. While others had considered the service slow, we found it to be relaxing & unhurried. All three meals were very good; rack of lamb, Florida lobster & sea scallops wrapped in bacon w. a teriyaki glaze. All three were in the $20+ range.

We want to go back & try the pub side. Both feature freah seafood (but there are steaks. chops, etc. on the menu). Prices in the pub are less steep & the people on that side of the place just seemed to be having more fun.

We just recently spent a week at Cocoa Beach and dined at The
Surf twice while we were there. We loved the early bird specials
(4-6pm). They had several specials to choose from- seafood, steak, pasta, etc. They also included salad and bread. The first night my husband had the prime rib and I had had the tenderloin
tips with bernaise sauce and the second night I had the stuffed shrimp and my husband had the grilled shrimp. All were excellent and you can't beat the price. We look forward to going back next year.
