“Best described as "Gone to the Dogs"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

Smelly, dirty, unfriendly and just down right ugly
This used to be our local but now -- well we have given it two go's since new ownership and it is just plain awful
It smells as you approach the door, it looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the twins left and the new crowd -- well just say that its a shame that they drink there.
The friendly locals we knew seem to have voted with their feet and found new places to drink.
Such a shame for the village -- we too hope that it changes hands again -- really soon !!!!!!

“New Management ruined a good thing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Used to be great new management has lowered the standard of music being performed as well as the standard of cleanliness. The crowd is now a very seedy bunch cops are there all the time. Not recommended unless you are a local heathen.

What a shame atleast the new management shouldn't last long.

“Could be great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

We live about 20 minutes away, and was really happy to find The Dog N Bone. I always feel comfortable there, however, (you knew that was coming) on our third time there, to see a fantastic musician, by the end of the evening, we were pretty sure the owners/managers are suffering from complete apathy. There were 4 of us. We sat at the bar. The place was only at half capacity, which we thought was odd till we had been there for about 30 minutes. We couldn't get service to save our lives. The bar area was full but not overcrowded. There were three bartenders (two of whom seemed to be owners/managers??) who for some reason had an aversion to our end of the bar. Not just us, but anyone who walked up to the bar at our end. Our friend finally went to where they were standing (talking to their buddies) and looked at the beers on tap and behind the bar, and they gave her an attitude about it?!? We weren't rude, didn't stand out, such as yuppies in a sea of bikers, etc. The crowd was a good mix of all kinds of people getting along and enjoying good music. They could have made quite a bit of money on most of the patrons just at the bar, never mind the tables if they had simply walked around a bit. Never seen anything like it. One of us asked for an Angry Orchard draft. The bartender said the line was frozen. Didn't offer an alternative. Then we saw someone else come to the end of the bar, order an Angry Orchard, and a different bartender gave them one in the bottle. Wow. The prices are also high on anything other than what's on special, this time $2 PBRs. Which brings me my second observation, which I think is a lack of a solid identity. If you go in the afternoon after doing some shopping in the village, you feel like you've walked into a nightclub that just happened to have opened the doors. Dark, dingy, and would put off quite a few tourists. (I know, but it IS a tourist area.) Not really a British pub feel till you get to the bar, which is all the way in the back, and even then, other than throwing in some overdone British decorations (which were filthy) and some of the taps, not so much. We will keep going, but now we'll know we'll have to maybe be assertive if we want good service. This place could be so much more.

“Outstanding Reputation Always Exceeds Expectations, Always a Good Choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

Laid back, authentic British Pub, with outstanding live music, pool tables, and of course Beer. Go for the Guinness, Black Velvet, or an Irish Car Bomb. Located in hip, funky, cool Cocoa Village on the square, they help host monthly free food & music events, always worth checking out. A solid crew of good bar keeps, beverages, pool tables & darts, you know this is a locals' place that welcomes anybody, even the occasional English Bulldog among assorted others. A continuously reliable lineup of outstanding area musicians from UCF, Orlando, the coast, places much farther, and places much closer. Quality of everything is top notch & relaxed. If a Guinness is too strong for you, try the Black Velvet half Guinness/half hard cider, always thirst quenching without being overpowering. Musician approved, locals-tested. Can't ever go wrong with a cool, friendly vibe and crowd. Lots of interesting people.
