“Resort Amenities access.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Stayed here to meet for a family vacation. Some stayed in the condos next door, but we were allowed to use their amenities by staying at this hotel.Room was large with 2 queen beds and clean. The bad was the beds were very uncomfortable. Three adults and we all had troulbe sleeping on them. Need better mattresses. TV is older, not flat screen like most places, but didn't spend much time in room with all the pools on property. This makes it worth staying here with kids. Or even adults, there is a tiki bar by the one pool. The breakfast is good with variety and everything was kept full by staff. Overall we felt we paid higher rate to stay in an average room with resort amenities and breakfast bar.

Room Tip: Ask for corner room overlooking pool.

Positives- free breakfast, quiet atmosphere, transportation to Disney, easy access to restaurants, great incentives to stay( $50 rebate for two night M-Th stay and $75 rebate for Fri-Sun stay), grounds walkable, free access to resort amenities (pools, tennis courts, etc.)

Not so good- in room air conditioning typically noisy, room musty smelling (but still clean), dated kids water area in the resort

Unfortunately, I had recently stayed at a Marriott resort which is much better quality overall, however for the price this hotel and resort is not that bad.

Room Tip: Ask for a resort view and 4th floor away from elevator.

Staff was great. Housekeeping was EXCELLENT!!! What you would expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. The property was pretty outdated. Tv's were very old, carpet worn, bathroom old, furniture old, mattress very hard. They do the best they can with what they have, but it does need a makeover. It is located in the Summer Bay Resort area so you have access to all the Summer Bay amenities. Things like a small, but awesome kids water park. A small beach area with water trampolines, giant water playhouses, jet skis, and boats. Also has access to a 24 hour pool, jacuzzi, kiddy pool, as well as several other pools. Tiki bar and mini golf course are a couple more amenities you will have access to. Overall, I would recommend this property. You def get your money's worth. However do not expect Ritz rooms or anything like that.

What a great place to stay! Room was immaculate and had lots of room. Bath was large and very clean. Pool was sparkling clear and really big. You also have access to all pools in Summer Bay Resort area staying at Holiday Inn. Breakfast was great. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, coffee, milk and juice. Super place to stay!

Room Tip: Rooms facing Parkway offer a nice view of the fountain in the pond:)

Arrived at this hotel after trying a terrible hotel nearby. The room we had was clean. Breakfast in the morning was very basic but it was ok. There is a resort in the hotel but I did not try it. I only stayed one night so for that small period, the hotel did the job just right.

I work at a hotel. So i know how it works. I had made a reservation for an employees mother traveling with the friends and family rate. She went to check in and did not have the voucher for the friends and family discount. Instead of letting me know or calling me at the hotel i work at...he decides not to give her any options except to pay the regular rate (reservation was for $85, charged her $160). I called today (6/1/12) seeing if i would be able to fax over the information or email it to him or a manger so we could resolve this. His answer was no im not helping you, you should have just done it at check in. I asked him if i could speak to anyone else, he says no. I asked if he was just unwilling to work with me in any way...his answer...no, im not helping you. General customer service is not hard. Try it.

Don't miss this one. Although there are scads of hotels near Walt Disney World, most of them aren't part of a large resort. This regular Holiday Inn Express has the standard features of an HIE (shower head, breakfast, good parking, pool, rec room), but guests also have the run and use of an expansive, gated timeshare resort. The resort has multiple pools, some with water parks, well manicured parkways and streets, stores, restaurants. The main resort clubhouse has a 24 hour pool with a bar, which is also on a man made beach, with paddle boat and jet ski rentals, floating trampolines to get crazy on, music, convenience store, right at the pool/beach. The resort has a free shuttle to and from Disney parks, which picks up first at your hotel, so you get best seating. The resort has an attached Publix grocery mall so you don't even have to drive to the store (liquor too). I own two timeshares and my experience is that this is one of the best places I've stayed at, yet I'm in a hotel? Sure, the hotel was full of families vacationing. This is Disney for crying out loud. I was here for 3 days, the week before Memorial Day weekend. If I come back to Disney World, this is the hotel I'm using.

Room Tip: There are two hotel buildings. I was on the 2nd floor facing the resort, not the pool. No ice mach...
