The original family, the Poole family returned to the restaurant. THANK GOD!!!! Man did they clean up the restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant was very nice. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and promptly seated. We again were quickly greeted by our waiter, who took our drink order. As we perused the menu we noticed that windows had been installed on the Montrose St side. Instead of sitting inside starring at the walls, you could now actually see outside. The bar area was extremely nice. Inside the restaurant was totally redone. Loved the stone wall with the flickering candles. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. The waiter returned and we were struggling with our decisions on what to eat. I ordered the 10 ounce Prime Rib, my wife order the Grilled Seafood Combination. First came our salad. The salad was awesome, i especially liked the honey mustard dressing, my wife opted for the poppy seed. My wife said the poppy seed dressing was so-so. I tasted it and agreed. Tomatoes were very fresh and juicy. Once the entrees arrived we both dove into our meals. My wife's combo seafood choice was Grilled Salmon, Grilled Scallops and grilled shrimp. I hate fish, but the salmon was very good. The shrimp and scallops were excellent.
My prime rib arrived cold. I alerted the waiter who immediately took the prime rib and brought me another slice which was PERFECT. The baked potato was no over cooked and was very tasty. My only complaint was that the prime rib was not served with Au jus. I asked the waiter for the au jus, and he quickly brought out a cup pf au-jus. Now it was game time. The prime rib was cooked perfect and was very tasty. Our overall experience was very good. Considering the small issues, which were all resolved, we recommend the 801 Grille.
