“Great stay and value, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

Our stay was excellent, the staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean as was the beach and pool area. The hotel is an older, but provides all that is needed for a regular stay. It has it's own beach and a great view of Sand key park and bridge.

Room Tip: Choose the southern side away from Shepards if you don't want to hear the outdoor bands.

The rooms were a little dated but the had a lot of space and the price was great! We also stayed at the holiday inn a few hotels down and this one was way better and does have a beach unlike some of the other ones that say they do.

We stayed here for a week over Christmas. The front desk staff was very helpful. We had read reviews that commented on the noise from the hotel next door, and when we checked in they asked us if we'd rather be on the opposite side. We did and never heard the noise at all. The rooms were ok, but on the small side. It was nice to have the fridge and microwave. They even had dishes and a toaster. It is farther from the pier then I had thought, but very walkable. We enjoyed sitting out on the pool deck and the hot tub was nice. The sunsets were beautiful! We will most likely stay here again if we go on vacation there again.

The reception area, elevator and corridors gave us a hint of what was to come. Both our rooms had an unpleasant smell and were a bit tatty. We were on the first floor and looked out over a carpark and as there were no net curtains there was not much privacy unless you kept the curtains closed. There was an old-looking stove top and a fridge which froze our drinks solid. There was a small swimming pool and hot tub neither of which looked very inviting. My impression was that there has not been much investment in this hotel.

The Gulfview Hotel was a nice hotel. The rooms were nothing fancy but we had a room with a view that you couldn't beat!!! We were laying in our bed watching dolphins. We were there New Years Eve and we watch the beautiful fireworks from our balcony. The room does have a small refrig and a 2 burner stove. We did utilize the stove as I had taken my family and so to cut a few costs I cooked a few meals in our room. The have a nice beach where you can collect shells if you get up early and the hot tub is great. They are right next to Shepards nightclub that has music outdoors every night so it can get loud. We didn't mind to much and Shepards has a great buffet. Would surely go again.

Our room was dirty. Fridge had left over food/drinks in it, air conditioner was leaking so the floor was wet. Tiny balcony, dirty bath tub. However, my best friend and I only got a room so that we had somewhere to sleep. This is right beside the Sheppard's resort. We basked in the sun all day, swam in the pool, went jet skiing, then took a shower and spent a night on the town. We walked to Jimmy's Iguana for dinner and music and went to Sheppards for drinks, dancing and a live band that was awesome. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room, it's perfect because it's cheap and right next to tons of great places.

This is a hotel located on a quiet beach a few blocks from the more crowded Clearwater beach. The rooms are clean but very basic and could use better lighting. They do include a combination refrigerator, freezer and stove. The beds in our room were not particularly comfortable.
The hotel has a pool and Jacuzzi with direct access to a quiet beach.
This is a good place to stay if you want to be on the beach but not spend a lot of money. I would not recommend this hotel to folks looking for a higher quality luxury hotel.
