As you drive your car into the free parking lot provided by the hotel, you'll be greeted by an average-looking building which resembles that of a college dormitory or cheap airport motel. The check-in area is similar, with very little space and a less-than-grandiose reception desk. I found the staff to be short and not overly helpful, although not rude either. The halls leading to rooms are slightly unclean and in some areas, smelled of animal urine. However, I found the rooms to be slightly better than average for a budget Florida hotel. Beds and linens were clean, appliances were somewhat updated, and there was a stove and sink for those who enjoy cooking their own meals (no newer than 1950 built). The bathroom was also not bad, with great water pressure and a satisfactory level of cleanliness. There is a balcony with a great view of the bay which was an added bonus. As you make your way towards the beach area, you'll be greeted by a tiny pool, and a hot tub, both settled on a nice deck overlooking the water. The beach is quite nice with extremely clear water (no pun intended).
Overall, if you're paying anywhere between $0 and $85 for this hotel, i'd say you got a great deal! If you're someone who is easily pleased by simple accommodations and very few "extras" or amenities, this will be ideal for you. However, I caution those who are interested in a beach resort -type accommodation, as this is not going to meet your hopes and expectations. The location was excellent, which is why I found it to be satisfactory.
I gave this hotel a 3 in terms of budget hotels because it meets expectations, but doesn't nearly exceed them.
