This is the place to go.Ideal location, right in front of clearwater beach entrance. It has two great restaurants on either side. Its walking distance to everything. My wife and I were there in sept 2011 for one week by the time we left we felt like family.Dave at the front desk was so helpful with directions and taxis etc, eveyone from the manager, the maintenance men and maid service had a friendly hello, obviously well coached.great value, just the place to go.

Room Tip: ground floor right by the pool, although its only three floors it has an elevator

We stayed at this hotel twice. The first time the room and location very really convinient. It was a fairly clean room and its right next to the airport. The breakfast was awful, coffee that tasted old and some bagels and juice. The front desk stuff is very unprofessional and not friendly. Both times never explained where to go or how to get to the room. The first time they never gave us a password for the internet and the second time i just knew it, but they dont bother to explain anything to you, or greet you or even wish you a nice stay and tell you to let them know if you need anything else. The second time i was unhappy with my room and asked them to give me a different one and they have told me they didn't have any available. I tried to then cancel my reservation and contacted expedia whom said that they would have to talk to the manager that comes at 3pm to see if he would let us cancel. When the manager Dave came and i called him to see if he would let us move to another room or cancel our reservation he almost screamed at me was very mean and said that i booked thru expedia and this is the room i get because i am a nobody because we bookes thru expedia??? What kind of treatment is that. I said ok to him because i wasn't going to fight. I do plant to report it to bbusinessbureaua because this is not a way of treating a customer. The elevator was not working either by the way and even though we actually ended up liking our room it wasn't that bad at all I have to compliment the housekeeping stuff they are pretty good, the front desk stuff is horrible and the manager sets a bad example for them. Considering how it is barely ever busy they could be way nicer and trust me I know what i am talking about I work at front desk myself at marriot and i treat everybody with respect guest who book thru expedia or not. If i would treat guests that way I would of been fired.

Room Tip: stay away you deserve better treatment

My wife and I stayed for five nights in August / September 2011. This was our second choice hotel for Clearwater having tried to re-book a hotel that we had stayed at previously; however this turned out to have been the best choice by a mile. Booked with hotels4u.com and got a very good price.

Stayed in room # 411 which was overlooking the pool and also gave a very good view of Clearwater Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. All rooms exit onto a balcony / walkway with table and chairs provided for each room – we spent several evenings with a beer in hand watching the spectacular sunsets from the balcony.

Rooms are of a good size with a sizable bathroom and powerful shower. Beds were very hard but surprisingly we had no trouble sleeping. Full size fridge also provided which came in very handy. In-room wifi was free, fast and efficient at all times.

A very good sized swimming pool which always warm and we used this every day of our stay. Never tried the complimentary ‘breakfast’ which was laid on in the hotel lobby – this appeared to be a microwave, coffee pot and a few cereals crammed in to a very small area!

Extremely good location; just a few steps across the road to the beach, a 5-10 minute walk to Pier 60 for evening entertainment and lots of restaurants nearby. The Sun Coast Beach Trolley stops right outside the hotel which takes you up and down the length of the beaches for a couple of dollars a day.

Can recommend Post Corner Pizza restaurant next to the hotel – very good breakfast and lunch menus – we ate there several times.

Good service from Laura, Robyn & Richard on the front desk - always cheerful and helpful.

Only negative – you need to be Sherlock Holmes to stay here! On checking in no information is provided regarding the hotel facilities; i.e. where the ice machines are, location of the laundry, times of breakfast or where to get pool towels etc. With in in-room guide either – it took constant detective work to discover all we needed to know that good have been listed in a simple guide.

Would we stay again – too right we will and we would recommend this hotel to anyone. OK the hotel is in need of a makeover and it’s not the Ritz but it is a well located comfortable hotel suitable for a good beach holiday. Best hotel of the five on our trip.

Some of the reviews had worried me a little, but we had no problems.
Yes the hotel is showing signs of its age - rusty handrails, room numbers missing, slightly damaged furniture - but for what we paid it was more than adequate. We had a sea view room (well worth the small supplement). Spacious and clean with great views over the Gulf and the brilliant sunsets, comfortable beds, small kitchen area. Towels changed both days we were there.
Pool looked ok but we didn't use as the Gulf was warm enough! Slight problem that the air-con was noisy, but didn' affect us too badly
Women on reception was very friendly, as were cleaning staff.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view room

We booked this hotel in April, as the Red Roof Inn. We were not informed that the hotel had changed it's name and spent a good 30 mins driving up and down clearwater beach looking for it. An email wouldn't of gone a miss.

The location of this hotel is perfect, it's over the road from the beach and has shops and restaurants close by. Pier 60 is also within walking distance ... a must see! However, the hotel was very run down and looked like it needed a makeover or repairs. The door numbers weren't very clear, and most of them were either leaning against the light above the door or on the floor. There was a broken drawer in our room and the door handle was also broken.

The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, the first morning consisted of hot water and coffee. The second morning a little better, with a cinnamon pastry available.

I would stay here again, but only as a stop-over and only for 1 night.

The hotel is older, but kept up. The rooms are clean and roomy. We had a gulf view and enjoyed watching the sun set and the ocean. The hotel has a nice pool, and is in a great location. We were hoping for a better rate since it was off season, but we did get a slight price break by using price line. We compared other hotels that were cheaper, but they were more run down, without a view, or balcony, etc. We found one for the same price, with nice rooms, but not near restaraunts or shops. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
