This is a beautifully maintained, very well situated motel right on the waterfront. People visit year after year, and you don't get this happening if people do not enjoy their stay. If you want a cutting edge, ultra modern boutique style hotel, then this is probably not for you. But if you want a comfortable, homely, friendly place to stay, then look no further. The rooms are supplied with just about everything you might need and the surrounding areas, gardens and pool area are cleaned on a daily basis, and always look immaculate. The staff will always do their best to help if there is anything you need, and they are all really friendly people, who take an obvious pride in their establishment. There is some redevelopment going on on Clearwater Beach, but this does not detract from the amenities provided at the Sea Captain Resort.
I have no hesitation in making repeat bookings for this place.

We have been going to Clearwater Beach , Fla since 1999. one of our mistakes was that we didn't staye at the Sea Captain Resort the first two years. Before I continue, I just want to say that we truly enjoyed being in Clearwater Beach the last several years. Especially since everything you need (a place to eat, the beach, or shopping) are all-for the most part- within walking distance.
We didn't need to have a fancy hotel/motel. Just a spotless clean, comforting, quiet, relaxing, and friendly place. Besides, most of us spend our time outdoors by the pool, walking through town anyway....so we weren't worried how big the room was.
We had stayed at the Sea Captain resort several times and again recently this year of October. The front desk is always very helpful to our needs. They made us feel so welcome and assured that our stay would be as comfortable as possible.
Housekeeping did a tremendous job of keeping our room super clean daily. Also, the pool area was kept clean- thanks to the groundkeeper who kept the pool and the lounge chairs clean. There are so many positives that I would like to mention, but I would only go on and on.
There is no other place other than the Sea Captain Resort that I would spend my vacation at.

This little marvel of a resort is an unexpected delight for the chain hotel-weary traveler. The entire staff at the Sea Captain Resort should be commended because it is they who take what could be a mundane stay and make it into a marvelous vacation!

The rooms are extremely neat and clean! Housekeeping and front desk staff will do anything they can to make your stay more comfortable. If it is too noisy, the front desk will even make the guilty guests move, not like in other hotels where they promise to handle the situation but fail to act.

The grounds are immaculate and the location is ideal! Get up and watch the sunrise over the bay from their grounds; cross the street at night for awesome sunsets! In essence, the best of the best of both worlds: low priced rooms (not like some of those big hotels on the beach) and yet, top shelf service and cleanliness and here's an added bonus: NICE guest and staff!!

The breakfast on the weekends is clearly an added value to an already SUPER VALUE deal. The price for this level of customer service and true Clearwater Beach ambiance? PRICELESS!

Thank you Sea Captain for staying on the beach for all of these years but even more so, for staying clean, safe, updated and friendly! You are truly the best kept secret on the beach!

We Stayed at the Sea Captain in Feb. 2008 based solely on the reviews and at the time, the Number 1 ranking on trip Advisor. And as usual, Tripadvisor members did not dissapoint. The Place was Wonderful. It didnt have that Bustling, snooty attitude that most of the big name chains have in resort communities. It was very down to earth and Peaceful. Pool was wonderful. Room was very spacious. As stated before, it has a little bit of a dated look to it with the VERY PINK Tiles and decor in the bathroom, but you know what, everything was clean, spotless, and kept in immaculate condition, so this was not a worry at all. The location is right across from the beach and within a block on the main Marina which offers Jet Ski rentals, Fishing and many different boat tours. They even had a couple Bicycles that the guests can borrow for Free! We stayed here for a week just before we headed to the Fast Flying world of DisneyWorld and Orlando. The difference was night and day. It was like Driving 15 miles and hour and then Jumping onto the Highway going 80! This Hotel is very laid back and relaxing. and I would highly reccomend it for Families, Honeymooners, or Basically Anyone! You will not be dissapointed!!!
