“Greg and Raechal's Holiday Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

This hotel was first class in every way. I would definately consider visiting this hotel again.

First, when you enter the hotel, the valet is right the to greet you. The valet staff was very friendly and helpful.

The lobby area was very elegant - first class. The rooms were pristine. Our room was on the south side of the hotel, so we had a view of the intracoastal, as well as Gulf.

The pool was huge - and what we liked most, was that it was heated! Very refreshing. And large, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

The beach was awesome -huge!!!! And the sand was great, as is most of the sand along the Clearwater Beach area.

The location of this hotel is really good. It's about 1/4 mile north of the main traffic circle - so while close to everything, it's far enough from the central Clearwater Beach area, that you are away from most traffic. There is plenty of shopping just adjacent to the hotel, and down the street. And a short 5 minute walk to Pier 60, and all of the action.

There are several restaraunts within walking distance, which is also nice.

We will definately go back to this hotel again....and we live just 10 miles away!

Room Tip: North or south sides - then you get view of Gulf of Mexico and intracoastal waterway.

“Excellent Special Occaison Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

My husband and I recently celebrated our "49th" Wedding Anniversary at the Sandpearl resort on December 21, 2012. Because our anniversary is so close to Christmas, we try to find somewhere that is relatively close to our home in Oldsmar, Fl. We had read excellent reviews on the hotel, and found it to totally live up to our expectations. We were able to relax, and enjoy a walk on the beach even though the weather was cool and windy. We did not avail ourselves of the many spa services that were offered, but we will next time. We found the rooms to be comfortable, and very well appointed with lots of nice touches.
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Clearwater Beach.

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra $, I would recommend a beach view!

“12-21-2012”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

We decided to get a front row seat on the Gulf of Mexico for the end of the world so we picked the Sandpearl. A very nice resort overall with great staff. The Sandpearl is a step or two above the other hotels on Clearwater Beach and the prices reflect it.The artwork and sand sculptures in the lobby are fantastic. We ate at Caretta's for dinner and the service and food was outstanding but pricey. The Valet was great but $20 a day was steep. The daily resort of $25 a day is also steep. The best discovery was Clear Sky restaurant right next door to the Sandpearl. We ate Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner during our stay. Great food, service and value.

Room Tip: We stayed in a beach front room 6th floor that overlooks the pool and the beach view rooms on our ri...

“Mr grumpy at the deskSand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

this was the second time I stayed at this resort. The resort itself is amazing, however I was less than impressed with the reception we received at check in.
On our previous stay we were greeted with glasses of champagne and an excellent staff that was beyond courteous. This stay, the valet was outstanding, but things went downhill from there.
There was no champagne. We had a brief wait to check in, which is not a negative, that happens. There was one person staffing the check in desk, still not a problem. Shortly, a man came out from the back to check us in. My guess is that he was having a bad day. With as few words as possible, he checked us in and handed us our room keys and muttered something like, "here ya go." He didn't give us directions to our room, nor did he explain amenities or activities that were going on during our stay.
I don't know if this is the reason we were unable to make a reservation for Christmas Day brunch, by the time we found out about it the restaurant located at the resort was completely booked. Maybe if Mr. Grumpy had told us about it when we checked in we may have been able to make reservations in time.
Last time we were at the Sand Pearl we booked a regular room, this time we rented a privately owned suite , so maybe that was the explanation for being treated like lower class guests. Either way, we weren't impressed and if this is what we are to expect in the future, the Hilton is much cheaper and we would expect this type of service from them.

“Just Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

This resort was great! Our room had a view of the beach, which was cool and relaxing. The service was really great and the rooms were spacey! The beach was also really nice, when we went the water was a bit cloudy because it was rainy, but I found some good shells and had a blast! Pool was great too, with great service. The restaurants at the actual resort were very nice and had good food, and being right there on the beach you couldn't beat it. Right outside there were also cute tourist shops and good restaurants as well. I would highy recommend it, just make sure you plan ahead when it comes to the weather :)
