Before heading to Clearwater to see Winter at the Clearwater Aquarium, I investigated restaurants in the area. Through TripAdvisor, I noticed this restaurant with excellent reviews. Being my birthday, I wanted to dine at a wonderful restaurant with my husband. We made reservations for 6:00. It was a slow night for them, Tuesday, but how special that was for us. The reviews on TripAdvisor said the crepes were wonderful. We started with the appetizer...my husband ordered the escargot and I ordered the smoked salmon. The escargot came in a puffed pastry shell....totally different than what he was use to. No shells...........just snails done in a lovely pesto with a slight hint of garlic. Now isn't that different? My salmon came on EVOO and lemon toast points with thinly sliced cucumber and yogurt dill sauce. Wonderful combination!
For the entree, my husband ordered the flat iron steak with whiskey sauce, scalloped potatoes and mixed veggies. He truly enjoyed it! I ordered the seafood crepes. When the chef's wife served the crepes, I immediately smelled a sweet lemon scent. What a wonderful change to actually smell my meal before I consume it. The chef was able to hold the salt at my request which was not even necessary since when he came personally to our table he explained he didn't even use much salt! What a relief. When he asked how our meal was, we could only smile! The intimate atmosphere and the owner's attention to each patron will indeed make this bistro a must destination. They can only serve about 30, so if you would like a culinary experience with a family atmosphere, then make reservations. They should be overrun with patrons before long.
