“Wonderful Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Wonderful Hotel with a great location. The hotel is only 6 months old. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had on the area. If you want a balcony you get a view of the intercoastal waterway if not then you have a great view of Clearwater beach and the sunsets at night. The rooms were spotless and also had a microwave and mini fridge to use. The bathroom is very spacious and has a huge shower in it, plenty of room. There is also a business centre, small gym and a outside pool for use.
The hotel has a great location and is located one block from the Clearwater beach. it is a short walk to the beach and the pier, Boat rentals and crusies of the waterway are right door, you could walk to Clearwater Marine Aquarium which would be about a mile also you are close to shopping and restaurants.

We recently stayed here when I had business in Tampa. We wanted to stay in Clearwater on the beach. This hotel was a great find. Our room was spacious with a great view of the Gulf. Staff was friendly. The only drawback we found was the breakfast. Yes, they do have a breakfast in the lobby, but each day we went down, there was not much of a choice and what was left (egg and sausage patties) appeared older and dry. Although that was a disappointment, breakfast was not our main priority. The view from the rooftop bar was amazing. We found the place to be nice, close to what we wanted to see and we would stay again (just plan on breakfast elsewhere).

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor but try to avoid the top floor with the bar. It can get loud.

We arrived late after a long flight on the 31st October! Check in was great and the receptionist really helpful in giving us our car park ticket said she would advise security so we could put it in the car the next morning!
Our room was a 10th floor partial gulf / harbour view which was fantastic! Watching the sun come up early in the morning was beautiful!
The hotel is new and the rooms reflect this with a huge comfortable bed and all the usuals! The rooms did not have safes which would have been handy!
We immediately threw our cases in the room and headed to jimmys crows near bar for a bud light or 2! The bar was also on the 10th floor and has great views! Even when there was live music we heard nothing in our room as there are security / sound proof doors!
We did have breakfast included although chose not to eat it! To be honest it wasn't really our thing and there are so many nice cafe's and restaurants I really didn't fancy eating off the polystyrene plates! I'm sure its fine but was our choice to eat out!
The hotel has a pool and loungers! Sadly due to its position the sun goes behind the hotel from lunchtime so doesn't get to the pool! The beach is opposite / over the road and there appeared to be chairs to hire! We stayed at the pool as we prefer loungers to chairs to relax on
Great hotel and if I'm ever back in Clearwater I'd definitely return to Pier House 60

Pier 60 is a brand new hotel in Clearwater Beach. My wife and I booked our room from a discount site that called the hotel a "surprise package". But we were very pleasantly surprised. As I write this I'm looking out over the Gulf of Mexico to the west, down Clearwater Beach to the south and over the very beautiful Bay to the east. The room, the staff, the free parking and internet and a great watering hole on the roof make this hotel a place we'll be coming back to on each visit to this jewel on the Florida west coast.

Room Tip: Get a corner room on a top floor for views in several directrions

Our room was modern, clean and spacious and well furnished with a balcony overlooking the harbour & river. We knew this hotel had fairly recently opened so everything looked brand new.

The service was great, we had stayed here because we were taking part in the Clearwater Triathlon - although we didn't realise it at the time but the location was perfect with the race start literally across the street.

The staff were friendly and courteous and we felt very welcomed.

The Crow's Nest Bar has great views of the beach but it does get a little windy up there and in the Autumn/Fall you did need to have an extra layer on.

Free breakfast was included with what seems like a standard offering for this kind of inclusion: bagels, toast, cooked eggs/bacon/sausage, cereals, teas, coffees etc. I wasn't really a fan of the polystyrene plates/bowls and plastic cutlery - my toasted bagel insisted on melting the plate as soon as it made contact with it and it just felt environmentally poor.

All in all this was an excellent place to stay - I was super excited to get back to the room each day to see what delight the housekeeping staff had made out of the towels - we had some great animals and it never failed to put a smile on my face.

An excellent place to stay, great location and reasonable prices - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

The location is wonderful, just a short block from the beach but with open lots in between so you can see the beach from the gulf-facing rooms. The parking ramp takes up the first 4 floors ($15/day plus tax seems a bit steep to be charged as a guest during off season) and the lobby and hotel rooms start on the 5th floor so all the views are good. The gulf-facing rooms do not have balconies from what I could see. We stayed in an intercoastal-facing room - all of which have very nice balconies overlooking parts of the marina and the intercoastal waterway. The check-in was smooth - all of the staff were very friendly and well-trained in customer service. The room had 2 queen beds, very nicely furnished with a very big bathroom (shower only in our room). The only reason I'm giving this a 4 and not a 5 is that there is no in-room safe and there is not enough drawer space to unpack clothes. They should either add some furniture or at least put a second suitcase bench so you can put your suitcase up. But these are minor inconveniences in an overall wonderful place. Housekeeping was prompt, well-done and we had our cute towel animal every day! Breakfast was OK - not up to the level of some other chain hotels, but there was enough to at least start your day. If you want pancakes, bacon, eggs to order, etc you'll need to walk just a short distance to many little diner places that have $3.99 breakfasts, or walk down to ClearSky Cafe for the best breakfast in Clearwater Beach. We would definitely stay here again! Just a note to management - please add a room safe and put a second luggage holder in the room to make it perfect.

Room Tip: If you want a balcony, make sure you book the intercoastal view room.

My Fiancé and I just returned from a relaxing three nights stay at the Pier House 60 and without a doubt will return again. Hotel is extremely clean and staff is very friendly. Whether you have a bay or beach facing room I doubt there is a less than desirable view to be had in this hotel. Location is fantastic; beach is a mere 1 minute walk across the street and is in walking distance to various restaurants and shops. We were here in the off season so it was a little chilly but the Crow's Nest bar (10th floor) would probably be lovely on a warm day/evening. There is also continental breakfast offered daily.

Quick note to those who were wondering (like we were before we arrived). The beach across the street is a city beach. There are chairs and umbrellas available for rent, a city personnel will come around and collect every once in a while. We paid $12.00 for the day to rent 2 chairs and the umbrella.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view of the bay have balconies and the rooms with a strictly beach front view don...
