“Would Book Again- Convenience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

We live in Florida and have three kids under the age of 8. Went for a spring training game in Dunedin and wanted a place less than 20 minutes away to the stadium and near the beach and aquarium. Location was great- Less than 5 minute walk to beach, covered playground at the pier, mini-golf, and indoor surf place that was fun to watch. Room was spacious. Pool was heated. Pizza place and Walgreens next door convenient. Building is new. Staff (Nick C front desk and housekeeping friendly without being phony). I can understand the noise caution, but hello it is the Florida Coast during March. Some of the reviews here are like the Disney reviews that say "nice if there weren't kids running around at 7 am..." Driving home we were very glad to stay minutes from all the amenities rather than the hotels/motels up near the highways that would have been 15-25 minutes from the beach with no ease of access or guaranteed beach parking.

Room Tip: No elevator for families with strollers.

Hotel was clean, provided a variety of rooms for different sizes of groups, staff was friendly and helpful, just a few blocks from the beach, very nice pool area, and awesome lunch served compliments of the hotel! Loved our stay!

We arrived at the resort thinking this is ok. Checked and were told we had to pay extra to park! Got to our small 1 bed appt. bit basic but ok. Take a mug with you if you like more than two mouthfuls as the cups are tiny. There was music playing round the poolside which we could here from our room, I asked for it to be turned down and was told it is always on. I pointed out that there was no one by the pool as it was freezing, eventually she agreed to turn it down. As it was cold we turned the heating on, it worked fine till about 9:30pm then stopped. I didn't notice this till around ten so rang reception. Cant help till the morning. Ah well we suffered through it. 8 am the following morning the gardeners started with the lawnmowers and leaf blowers...argh!!!! I rang reception who said they couldn't hear it but would check. 9am it stopped....peace at last...oh no! Then the pool music came on again!

If you want a relaxing holiday then don't stay here. If you have kids it will be perfect.
Did I mention being woken up by the drunks coming out of the bar adjacent at 3 am...!!

Will never s tay here again. Don't take the glowing reviews at there face value, remember any one can write these reviews. But trust me and look at some of the others and you will get the real gen on this noisey little resort.

Please accept my sincere apologies regarding your recent stay with us. We strive to make sure every guest leaves satisfied with the services they received.

I am sorry that you were inconvenienced by the music from the pool area and the landscaping company. We do play the pool music between the hours of 10 am and 7 pm daily. We try not to inconvenience anyone by playing it too early or too late in the evening.

We also have a landscaping company that services our property on a weekly basis and I am sorry that they began so early and will speak with them about starting a little later in the morning.

Parking is a daily fee of $10.00/day and I am sorry that you were not aware of this, but we do inform everyone that is booking through the hotel directly and it is clearly stated on all websites that book our property.

I do hope that you allow me to correct these issues with you and give us another chance and stay with us in the future. It is definitely not our intention to be a noisey facility, but a relaxing hotel that everyone can enjoy.

We liked Coconut Cove, but not everyone will, so I'll start there. If you want a modern American high rise hotel, you don't want Coconut Cove. On the other hand, if you want a place that has a great location near the beach, clean rooms, plenty of room in the suites for a family of six, or for the same number of college students, a nice pool, and easy access to restaurants and beach activities, this is a good choice. Coconut Cove is a series of buldings with parkng on the ground floor underneath rooms on the second and third floors. The rooms are clean, with two queens in the bedroom and a pullout couch in the living room, and a bathroom and kitchenette. The people who work there are warm and helpful. This hotel worked well for us as a good homebase during our two-day stay in the area. Recommend Coconut Cove.

My wife and I used a third party to plan a winter vacation and requested a place to stay with a room with a balcony overlooking the gulf. So naturally, that's what we were expecting when our driver took us from the airport to our destination. When he pulled in on the other side of the street to our destination, we were both bewildered and confused. We checked in and went to our room. It was both clean and very spacious. We later talked to Mia at the front desk and told her of our plight. She told us that she thoroughly understood and if the third party changed us to a different location, there would be no extra charges to us if we moved. Well, we stayed for the week and the staff couldn't have been any nicer.
There's a pool placed in a tropical setting with a water fall and the chaises by the pool are
very comfortable. There was a living room with a fully equipped kitchenette. Plenty of room in both the bathroom and bedroom as well. Both the living room and bedroom had cable TV and there was a door wall off the bedroom overlooking the pool. On Wednesday, the manager, Kendra, prepared a luncheon at the pool for all the guests that included Beef or Chicken Kabobs, Pasta Salad, Fresh Vegetables and Dip, Cookies and each person received two drink tickets for beer or soda. I understand that she does this every week and each guest gets an invitation card to their room on Tuesday. What a great time. Clearwater beach and many restaurants were all within walking distance. In fact, there was a restaurant and a Wallgreens right next door.
The front desk personnel, Mia, Tina and Nick were very personable and helpful. The cleaning personnel were friendly and always making sure that we had everything we needed. Wait time? No more than a few minutes. Frank, who headed up maintenance was always around making sure everything was working and the guests were satisfied.
One could tell that Kendra was a great manager because she was present for the guests and the staff had high regard for her. So from disappointment to enjoyable, we will be back.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the pool. There are rooms that overlook the parking lot.

We were two families staying four days in late October, 2012. The rooms were big and spacious with one kitchen/living room area and one bedroom with two queen size beds. The separate TV in the living room area was good to have when the kids wanted to watch their programs in the evening or in the morning. The pool area was very nice, the buildings situated around the pool protected against the wind and the noise from the main street. It gave the area a more private feeling. Free wireless internet. Good housekeeping and excellent service at the front desk.

Good restaurants and convenience stores close by. Walking distance to the “city centre” and the beach at Pier 60.

Hope to come back again!

This was a nice hotel in a great location. We were able to walk to the beach, pier 60, walked all along the beach and shops. The pool area is very nice. The hotel is situated in the back of the entrance there is not a good view of anything but the other rooms, there is no beach view. We only slept at the motel so that was not a problem for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You do have to pay $10 a day for parking. The kitchen had everything you would need for a few nights stay.
