Stayed here with a few friends just to get away from the cold... I would definitely stay here again - probably the nicest hotel staff I have encountered in 20 years of travel. Very peaceful and scenic bayfront location. Nice poolside bar and you can walk to a few stores to keep your room stocked with beer, water and snacks. Rooms and bathroom are a bit tired, but generally spotless, so this was not an issue. For TV watches, the channel selection is limited, but who cares really.

We flew into Tampa and decided to stay here on a whim and were happy with our choice. From the front desk to every other staff member we encounterd, we were impressed. So friendly! The property was well maintained, clean and had all of the amenities we could hope for. Our room was up high and had sweeping views. We had drinks at the open, waterfront pool bar and when it got cool the bartender brought us all warm towels! We enjoyed live piano music in the bar, had a delicious dinner in the restaurant. Walked on the beach, saw dolphins up close during breakfast...what more could we ask for?

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, for a quick getaway without our kids. The property itself, although older, is pleasant and well maintained -- but the people really made the difference for us. Each staff member we encountered, from the front desk to the bartenders to the restaurant staff, made us feel like truly valued guests. The front desk staff went out of their way to be warm and welcoming, and the extra touches (complimentary cookies and milk delivered to our room, for example) left a lasting positive impression. Our 10th floor suite was clean, comfortable and quiet, with nice views of the bay and swimming pool, plus a very comfortable bed. We would love to return in the future!

Really enjoyed our stay when we spent the New Year in Clearwater. Although the rooms look a little jaded at first glance, the facilities both in the room and around the hotel are top notch. Great views across the bay from every room. The Jolley Trolley runs every 30 minutes from right outside the hotel into town, hotel reception has day tickets available for $4.50 and it's a great way to get around.
