we visited Jungle Adventures in Christmas, FL on Feb. 21,2013. It is a natural attraction, ,highlighting the native animals of Florida as well as some others found throughout the world. The staff was very informative about the animals tendencies, habitat, origins in the area. Included was the opportunity to hold several small animals, including alligators, snakes, and a skunk.
There are walkways throughout the park where there are many birds, as well as panthers, lynx
and even lemurs. There are many peacocks roaming about; if you are lucky you may see one spread his beautiful feathers.
There is also an area where there are reconstructed Indian houses with a very informative and congenial descendent of the Lakota and Cherokee tribes. He will explain the history of the Indians in the area a well as demonstrate weapons, utensils, and items of daily use. He was very informative, even recommending specific books to read about the culture.
All in all it was a fun and informative way to spend several hours in central Florida.
