“Nice Place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Good place for breakfast and lunch - we tried it both and the food was really good.
The service is a little slow and not the most friendly, but our waitress seemed to be a little overwhelmed - especially during the lunch service. She was much nicer the next morning for breakfast.

“Wonderful lunch-Cafe con Leche”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We stopped in after a visit to Everglades City for crocodile watching. Didn't see any crocs but this restaurant made up for the disappointment. The sandwiches are super and we each got a different kind- the media noche and the cuban- and shared. My favorite was the cuban and the wonderful yellow bread that the sandwich was served on. Need to find out what kind of bread that is! Took the leftover sandwiches with us on the way to the airport. Made delicious snack later in flight. Very eclectic location. Loved sitting out on patio!

Will stop here again if ever in the neighborhood.

“Best Paella east of Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Two years ago I was in Chokoloskee on a Saturday night and heard at breakfast that the Havana Cafe had a Paella special on Saturday nights. I gave it a try expecting it to be good but not expecting it to be great. It was great! The rice was delicious on its own and the seafood was fresh and abundant: shrimp, mussels, stone crab, lobster, scallops, clams. Don't miss it! Also, the owners and staff are so wonderful. I look forward to seeing them every Spring when I spend several weeks on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Great coffee and breakfast too. Tell 'em the gal from Las Vegas sent ya!

Stop here for excellent Cuban food. The cuban sandwiches were great and mahi mahi sandwiches were awesome.

“In the 'Glades; superb Cuban food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

If you can resist the several excellent seafood restaurants in Everglades City, drive on to Chokoloskee and the small Havana Cafe. It is definitely worth the extra 4-5 miles down the spit. Had lunch on a warm & windy Sunday, and the outside seating was perfect. Indoors seating is non-A/C & limited, but the extended patio under the trees is shady & welcoming. We missed breakfast by a few minutes and tucked into a mahi-mahi wrap and a pork plate. The mahi-mahi was the catch of the day & could have been prepared as a plate (w/ rice & beans), a sandwich, in a wrap, or as a salad. The serving was plump & cooked just right; served with rice & a small salad. The pork plate was priced at an incredible $9.95. Served with a generous helping of rice and beans that smacked of garlic & onions, it was absolutely wonderful. Service was slow enough to allow us to enjoy the day as well as the food. And the cafe con leche was large, sweet & a perfect wake-me-up. Take the extra drive. You've come this far for a meal, and the Havana Cafe is worth multiple repeat visits.
