We're big fans of Celebration so when we needed to spend a couple of nights in Orlando, picked this hotel over the usual tourist traps.
We booked a Lakeview Room on the hotels' website (seemed the same price as anywhere else). When we were allocated our room it was very dark and poky. The window was very small. Take care when booking, many of the rooms on the 3rd floor have small windows. We changed rooms to an alternative room with a bigger window.
Despite the town's very manicured and stylish design, the hotel is different inside than it's exterior suggests. It's a bit 'Tommy Bahamas' inside. Room furniture is pretty dark and traditional, not contemporary and stylish. Amenities are nothing special. Air Con is VERY noisy, sounds like a tap running when you switch it off (you need to call maintenance to sort it out). One of the noisest hotel rooms I've stayed in. Apparently their air con system runs on water which accounts for the noise, but as the hotel is only around 10 years old, it's strange it is so old fashioned.
You pay a $12 daily 'resort fee' which is basically for internet connection and 2 bottles of water.
Pool is okay, quite refreshing on a hot day, I had to request towels as there were no clean ones available.
It's nice to be somewhere in Orlando you can walk to restaurants/shops etc. You can grab breakfast at Market Street Cafe or Starbucks minutes away. There is ample free parking nearby, so no need to use the valet.
It's a shame about this hotel, it seems to be a wasted opportunity in a great little town.
