“Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2011

Room was spacious and clean. Jacuzzi was a bonus. Service was super....anything needed (IE soap, towels, etc) was quickly delivered to the room. Pool was close (to bldg 32), clean and very nicely landscaped. Had problems connecting my computer to the internet but a service person was dispatched and quickly fixed the problem.
Minor negative: Fitness center had a couple of bungee cords and a medicine ball for exercising...no treadmill or stair stepper.

We stayed in a one bedroom standard villa. Check in was easy - easy to find the building / room in this larger resort complex. You key into an entryway - 2 seperate room entries are inside the entryway / I like the added security but remember to take keycard if you answer the outer door. The bedroom is towards the front parking area - bathroom w/ one sink but spacious - washer/dryer in a closet in the hallway - kitchen w/ counter/barstools - living room - sliding patio doors. The patio doors did not have a screen so we had to call and they came right over to install it. The kitchen has a full size fridge/freezer w/ ample dishes and cookware - a small electric cooktop stove w/ 2 burners - microwave - no oven - no dishwasher. The dryer took a few hours to dry the clothes - it never got hot. We paid roughly $69/night and would pay that again but not more. They have a mini golf course that was fun - $6 per person for 1-hour. The only free activities is the pool or if they hold an outdoor movie. It was quiet - once we were in the room - we didn't hear any neighbors or outside noises. Fee for wi-fi - that is a pet peeve of mine that we are charged for that when it is there already and available to use.

We had stayed at Mystic Dunes 6 yrs ago in a 2-bdr unit & had thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So when the opportunity came up to do a timeshare exchange again for MD, we went for it. It was a 1-bdr unit, but that was ok since there would just be 2 of us. Well, we had expected a full kitchen, but our unit had only a 2-burner cooktop, no oven & no dishwasher. In addition, the only place to eat was at a counter with barstools (no dinette or table). We were told that MD has 2 types of 1 bdr units. The ones with a king-size bed apparently come with the full kitchen & dinette table; the 1-bdr units with queen-size beds come with the mini kitchen. We wanted to cook, so they moved us into a small (junior) 1-bdr that had not yet been refurbished, so it had a full stove/oven but it was "tired" & in need of a makeover.

Half the towels in both units were threadbare. While maintenance & security came out immediately to take care of issues (and there were issues in both units), it took housekeeping 2 days to deliver a working toaster.

We have not stayed at any other resorts in the Orlando area, so we will probably try another resort next time we visit.

Thank you for your comments. Your feedback is valuable in enhancing our service and product. We are currently renovating our standard one-bedroom units with all new appliances and cabinets. Our deluxe one-bedroom units will still be available with full kitchens should that be needed for your stay. We hope you will decide to return for another stay in the near future!

I must write a review for this place. It is absolutely the best kept secret in Orlando. I am a travel agent who stay at many of the hotels and resorts in Orlando, and I am glad that I found this place in November. I have stayed once in November, January and this past weekend. It is my new favorite place. The rooms are spacious, clean and the staff is friendly. I have recommended several friends here for there stay. I cannot say enough about this place. I am a travel agent so I will be recommending this resort to my clients in the future.

What a pleasant surprise this place was. Was spacious, clean, friendly and comfortable. Was too cold to go to pools, but they looked beautiful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We did not have anyone approach us about time share. Loved the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. Great place!

We spent 3 nights in this place and there were 12 of us- 10 adults and 2 kids. Our villa was a big one: 3 rooms 2 kitchens and facility of washer + dryer (2 sets). It was spacious and since we have our own transport we were able to manage going back and forth downtown. On our check out date we visited the clubhouse and saw ppl playing golf. The place is just so relaxing !

We cooked our meals and the kitchen is complete w the cutlery, dishes and pans. The toilets are clean & with toiletries and there's enough towels for everyone. It is quiet and have enough parking slots.

Over all our stay at Mystic Dunes contributed to the fun and excitement of our HS reunion.

So thanks Mystic Dunes.

PROs: Nice resort - serene environment, spacious room, nice jacuzzi in bedroom, well equipped kitchen with all utensils. Resort had good pools [personal favorite: terrace pool] and miniature golf, bicycle ride and Golf. Bartender in the restaurant was very friendly and nice.

CONs: It would be good if hotel keeps a map attached in room with more information like which are heated pools etc. had to call and ask. DVD player in the room didn't work as it was missing cables - had to call and have them fix it. Check out time is 10 AM which I felt is little ridiculous given it is a relaxing place and wish it had been 11 AM at least. Also, will be good if some basic like sugar and salt can be kept in the room.

I will stay here again just for the fun activities like 18-hole miniature golf and the pools.
