Description: Welcome to Tony's in the beautiful island community of Cedar Key. We are located in the Hale Building (circa 1880) in the downtown historical district across the street from the historical museum at 2nd Street and SR 24. Tony's is noted for our 3 time World Champion Clam Chowder and our fresh seafoods. We are a small 54 seat restaurant and very popular. During peak times (1-3pm) and (7-8pm) there maybe a wait for a table. We provide covered bench seating right outside the front entry. Please be patient if all tables are taken. Our wait staff is great at getting everyone in, especially those that are patient. Our inside front dining area has no waiting area, so please allow us to visit you outside the front covered area when your table is ready. At Tony's our policy is total customer satisfaction. If there is anything about your dining experience that is not acceptable, please inform your server right away and our Management staff will do whatever it takes to make sure you are completely satisfied with your dining experience. We love compliments from our diners and always encourage them to contact us. Thank you for making Tony's Seafood Restaurant Cedar Key's favorite for nearly 8 years.

“Excellent chowder, cheerful service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We actually ate at Tony's based on a TripAdvisor rating of 5 stars. It didn't disappoint us! Lunch is affordable (between $7 and $15 for sandwiches and platters). We thought the dinner prices were a bit steep, but then again, you are getting some pretty fresh seafood and large portions. We definitely came to try the clam chowder, which was heavenly. It's a big deal, people. Also had a blackened grouper sandwich, which was very good. The only negative thing about experience was that we arrived on a Saturday at about 11:30am and they only had the small dining room upfront available. We were quoted 20 minutes, came back and they said it would be 15 more minutes. The rest of the restaurant was closed off because they only had 2 waitresses working. Stuff happens, I guess. There were plenty of fun things to do while we waited. We went to the Historical Museum next door and the kids also had fun playing down by the water and collecting mussels. Later that weekend, we ended up in a restaurant in Dunnellon, FL, which also served Tony's Clam Chowder! We ordered it again. It's that good.

“Spicy but delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013 via mobile

I wasn't ready for my first bite of chowder. Definitely original. It's Cedar Key style. Far cry from New England and Manhattan. This is a MUST try!

“Scrumptious Clam Chowder!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

Our first stop in Cedar Key was at Tony's for the clam chowder he is known for. We were not disappointed. It was creamy and delicious with an unexpected bite at the end of each spoonful.Tons of tender clams and spiced just right. We also tried a salad with grilled shrimp and a shrimp po-boy, both very tasty. In my opinion, the serving sizes could have been a bit more generous for the price, but the next person might not agree. At any rate, we enjoyed the food!

“Clam chowder is as good as advertised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

The clam chowder was amazing. The waitstaff was friendly. We sat by the window and unfortunately had flies buzzing around us. Other than that, a great experience.

“Clam Chowder”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Tony's has excellent clam chowder. Seems like they're kind of famous for it. You may be able to find a can or two at Publix.
