“Dog Hair Everywhere, dirty, dirty , Unit 6C, Journey's End”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2011

This is by far the filthiest place I have ever stayed. We were told that the owners had 4 large dogs, but incorrectly assumed that the unit would be cleaned before we arrived. There is no way anyone even touched this unit after the onwers leashed their 4 dogs and vacated. Dog hair swirled in the air when we turned the AC on. I have never seen so much dog hair! We had to wash the pillows, sheets, pillow cases, blankets, comforters, and throw rugs. We placed our newly washed sheets over the couches to sit on them. There was a dead pionsetta on the coffee table, the entertainment center had not been dusted, probably for months. The air conditioner filter was so clogged, I can't believe the AC even worked. We complained, but we were told that the unit was cleaned to their standard and we could stay or go, our choice. The offer of having a maid come over and clean was accepted, but the maid never came (in 8 days). We bought our own cleaning supplies and scrubbed tiolets, sinks, floors, micorwave, kitchen table, counters, tubs, showers, etc. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. There were muddy dog paw prints on the vanity in the master bath, along with a pee stain - obviously one of the dogs had lifted its leg on the vanity. There was a dried poop stain on the tiolet seat and toothpaste residue in the master bath sink upon checkin. We were actually accused of making the place dirty ourselves - don't know how we could have made it dirty before we arrived and checked in......But that was the response from check in desk. .We were four adults staying in this unit, all of our complaints fell on deaf ears. One day at the pool we were disucssing our unit with other vacationers, and a girls says "you must be in 6C. We are maids here and we all argue about who cleans that unit because it is so disgusting". We saw the same 2 maids every day for a week sunning and swimming with their families in the pool. Shouldn't hey be cleaning units? This could be the premier unit at the complex, it has by far the best view. If the unit is to stay in the rental program, the owners need to make sure that it is cleaned PROPERLY before guests arrive. Is it not in management's best interest to have happy renters? Management could have cared less that we were upset about the filth in this unit.

This is by far the filthiest place I have ever stayed! I rented the condo in February of 2011. Apparently the condo has changed hands since I booked it, and the new owners have 4 large dogs. Bob the property manager told me that they had to wash the comforters after the owners would stay there (hmmm...shouldn't that be done anyway?). I incorrectly assumed that Bob, the property manager, would make sure that the condo was clean before we arrived. The welcome mat was anything but welcoming, it was so caked with dog hair, we moved it aside. Upon opening the door, swirls of dog hair greeted us. There was so much dog hair in the hallway it was unbelievable. The master bedroom - well, we had to remove the comforter (guess it didn't get washed), we washed the pillows, cases, sheets, and matress pads. They were covered with dog hair. there is no way these items had been washed between the owners and our visit. The master bath - dried poop stain on the tiolet seat, toothpast residue in the sink and soiled towels hanging on the towel rack,. The vanity had muddy dog prints on it, as well as a urine mark from a dog lifting its leg. Corresponding stain on the throw rug. The shower had multiple hair - human and animal. The same was true of the guest bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was a mess, a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, no kitchen towel anywhere to be found, and the microwave was caked with dry red sauce. It had not been wiped down in ages. All of the skillets had pealing teflon, and the red light was blinking to change the water filter in the frige. The table had crumbs on it, and the living room had not been dusted for probably a month or more. You could write in the dust, and we did! The chair in the corner was so covered in dog hair it was disgusting. It was also broken. There was a dead pionsetta on the coffee table. it appeared to us as if the owners had leashed dogs, left the condo and no cleaning was done. We went to Bob, the property manager and complained. He said the unit had been cleaned to their standard - maybe they need to reset the bar? He actaully accused us of making the place dirty ourselves - guess we snuck in like Navy Seals before check in and spread a 50 pound of dog hair about. He said we could say or we could go - our choice. he did offer to send a maid over, but in 8 days she never appeared. We went to the local market and purchased about $50 of clening supplies and cleaned ourselves, not something you want to do on vacation. We were in the pool talking with other renters about the disgust in our unit, and one of the girls there said, "Oh, you must be in unit 6C". she indicgted that she and the other girl there worked there and all the maids argue about who cleans the unit because it is so filthy and dirty. She also indicated that the new owners were very difficult to deal with. So management does not care about the unit, the maids don't care about the unit - what about the owners? If you are the owner and are reading this - call Bob - perhaps if the maids were not swimming in the pool each afternoon, the unit would be clean!!! On the bright side - this unit has by far the best view in the complex. It could be the premier unit, if it was cleaned and had a coat of paint.

Lovely ocean views. Dirty toilets and sheets. Management did clean after we complained. They stated that our room must have been missed. Not true, it was just poorly cleaned.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Stayed here last weekend with my son on a little father/son fishing trip. the rooms were very comfortable and clean with a great family room/kitchen area.
Even better than the place is the ownership! I left my Ipad in my room by mistake and didn't realize it until I got back to Orlando. When I called the next day the owner said that he had it and would mail it back, which he did soon after.
Clean, comfortable, honest and friendly - what a combination!!!

There are many condos to choose from and you won't get a "bad" view from any of them. If you can get Unit 6C, you will have the best of both views! Across to the Gulf with the morning sunrise coming in from the balcony and to the left over the inlet which dries to a channel at low water. That's when the wading birds come in to feed.
When the channel floods again, keep your eyes on the water. We saw several pods of dolphins following baitfish in and once saw them herd the fish out onto the mudbanks! I urge you to pack binoculars. Preferably one each, as you won't want to share. Pack or borrow a fishing rod. I couldn't get enough of freshly-caught fried Speckled Trout. They have a private fishing dock and purpose-built fish-cleaning station.
We've had a couple of visits and can't wait to return.

EDIT: I went round and round finding the details so for simplicity; the management of 6C can be reached on --

Stayed in Margaritaville Villa (at Old Fenimore Mills Condos) with two girfriends to celebrate my birthday. The condo was amazing. Spacious and absolutely beautifully decorated. I took the master suite with its own access to the large balcony overlooking the water. My friends each had their own bedrooms and we were so far apart we couldn't hear each other without coming out to the living room or kitchen. We all had total privacy. And we could easily walk to all the fun restaurants and bars in the area. What a wonderful and memorable Birthday! I'd go back in a minute.

Unit 3D is actually a double unit, 3D & 3E. It is named "MargaritaVilla" and has a Jimmy Buffet theme throughout. Go to http://Margaritavillarental.com

It has 3 BR and 3 full baths, plus a loft which has an additional foldout couch and an additional half-bath. A BEAUTIFUL view of the gulf with a double balcony. It is also the closest condo to the pool, very convenient for trips back and forth. It is nicely appointed and furnished with Mission furniture, and has themes for each bedroom, each uniquely decorated. Comfortable and first class.

Seats 8 comfortably in the separate dining room! Kitchen is fully equipped with full size appliances. Kids? Has crib, highchair, stroller, toys, and pool stuff for kids.

Has a BOSE stereo sound system, internet WIFI, large washer/dryer, walk in closets, fun wall murals. Interior attached double doors to unit next door (3F Aquavista) with additional 2 BR, 2B and extra kitchen. Great unit!
