My husband and I just had our 1 year anniversary, and since this was our first get-a-way after the baby was born ( she stayed with family) We decided it was time to have a little romance alone. A friend recommended us to The Island Place at Cedar Key, and said we'd love it. My husband made the reservations, and also told them that it was our 1st anniversary. When we arrived the staff had given us a BEAUTIFUL room and decorated it for us. There was flowers, wine, chocolates, candles, and even a small platter of fruits with dips for us. The staff at the island place has most deffinatly won our hearts, they made this a very special occasion for us. We will DEFINATALY be back asap!

We were on a fly drive holiday around Florida, having all ready done Orlando, Daytona Beach shores and St Augustine when we decided to head for the Gulf.

I had found out about Cedar Keys from the web as an alternative place to stay in Florida and I fully recommend it.

We rented a One Bedroom condo right on the Gulf and the Sea almost lapped up under our balcony, we spent a lot of time just sitting on the swing or in the pool.

We originally planned to stay one night but soon decided to stay another.

One minor criticism was the cleaning, when we got there the Condo was clean, but on the first day we were in when the girl came to tidy up, she went away but never came back.

Now this didn't make any difference for one day, making your own bed and putting the rubbish out is an everyday experience, but I did wonder what would happen if we had been in for three or fours when she had turned up.

If you want a quiet relaxing place to go here it is, although I do feel slightly guilty about sharing this so please don't tell too many people, as we want to return.

We stayed in a one-bedroom condo at the Island Place in Cedar Key, FL. Island Place is a beautiful setting directly on the gulf. The employees were friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.

We loved sitting on the balcony watching the gulls, pelicans, dophins, and boats moving about.

The rooms have cable TV (one in the bedroom, also) with VCR/DVD, telephone, all linens, and fully equipped kitchen. Guests have access to a gazebo with a grill, a pool (right on the gulf), and jacuzzi spa.

Cedar Key is an enchanting little fishing village and our stay at the Island Place made it even better.

We loved it!!

The Island Place is the perfect getaway no matter how close or faraway you live. Although the buildings are older, they are upkept well. The most pleasureable experience was sitting on the balcony watching the dolphins-WONDERFUL!!!
