This place is on the way into town where the bay is still very visible to the left. I highly recommend you use a mapping program or GPS and FIND IT!! We have passed this place on may other trips from Jacksonville to Cedar Key and once found, will be Saved on GPS indefinitely. We did lunch on the way in to the Dockside Motel. The place was at least 75% full and we might have been the only touristas. I say that because the owner greeted all the others by first name. BTW, even though this was Labor Day weekend, this was the ONLY place other than Tony's with a crowd, another indication that we had chosen well, thanks to Tripadvisor. We both had ribs and sides. My ONLY negative was that the beans were not BBQ spicy, but more Old South molasses sweet, but this is a personal preference, not a cup of bad beans. The ribs were literally fall-off-the-bone good with lots of pre-smoking rub flavor that anyone would enjoy. The slaw & fries were very good. Service is friendly and fast. The bonus was the great fudge that my wife bought and thoroughly enjoyed while in Cedar Key. Good food, reasonably priced and fudge you rarely find, so how bad can it be???? BTW, half the seating is on an outside screened porch, so finding comfort in June, July & August may be tougher than getting tickets to a Packer Game at Lambeau.
