The last time I was at Colorado Fondue was years ago and had a great experience, but just have not gone back. I was definitely missing out! The food and experience were just as great as I remember. They have different meals in which you can have multiple courses, which we selected. They begin the meal with hot rolls that have a garlic/butter flavor and are too addicting to eat just one. For our cheese fondue course, we ordered Swiss cheese which had great flavor. The dipping items included bread, vegetables, and a few fruit items (like grapes). The meat course comes with a variety if you order a meal to include: filet mignon (delicious), sirloin (it was ok), shrimp, pork (we substituted more filet), and chicken (it was fine). You cook all of the meat on a hot stone and not in a broth as other fondue places do. There is also a broth that contains potatoes, some pasta, mushrooms, and other veggies. In addition, they bring out different sauces to dip your meet into, my favorite was the honey mustard which I practically put on everything. The only negative to the hot stone is waiting for your meat to cook. For dessert, we had the milk chocolate fondue with Kahlua. The dipping items included cake, brownies, marshmallows, fruit, and other delicious items.
The ambiance of the restaurant is so cozy. It really looks like you are at a ski lodge in Colorado. The current theme of the restaurant was 80s movies so there were some nice 80s movie posters around too.
Overall, the meal was terrific and the pace was nice too (plan on at least an hour and a half if not more to complete the meal). I will definitely be returning!!!
