“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. We wanted to get away with our boat for our anniversary and the marina nice. We were able to bring our dog too! Room was clean. Had laminate flooring (for pets friendly room). Small town but we enjoyed our stay there and will be back. Did not try the breakfast there. We weren't told about it up front but there were signs posted that they had it?

Sleepy little fishing town where there isn't much traffic. Nice place to stop and watch the boats from a room balcony overlooking the water. Rooms were very spacious, bed was comfortable. Rooms are clean and the grounds fairly well maintained. Price is reasonable. Breakfast better than most hotels and the director of breakfasts Alida is a wealth of travel information.

Not fancy or pretentious. Down to earth, realistic, wonderful bang for the dollar. We stated in one on the rental condo units. Really not fancy, but we keep coming back. On the waters edge if the marina In a loss in paradise town. Carrabelles claim to fame......no traffic light and the police department is licated in a phone booth. And font firget yo go to "Harry's" a true iconic local place in Carrabelles. ........love Carrabelles. But please, you tourists, don't ruin it.

I love this place for a quiet weekend away. Very clean rooms, great access to dining and the little quaint bars in the area. Nice place to just go for a weekend to rest and relax. Nice pool and great little balcoiny that overlooks the marina.

Room Tip: bring a small grill, small frig in the room, nice day at the beach then grill out and call it an eve...

We stayed at The Moorings of Carrabelle as an overnighter on an extended road trip and loved it. A very nice way to wind down for the day, sitting on the balcony with a cold beverage watching the sun set while looking over the warf / mooring area... beautiful!

The room was spacious, neat and clean, very reasonably priced, and the staff very friendly.

The pool area is also nice, but being right along side the road and an entrance to the marina, it can feel a bit "busy" at times.

The only 'negative' (if you can call it that) is the balcony does not have privacy screens between rooms, only a standard height fence between room areas. Not an issue if you dont mind chatting to any neighbours, but may be off-putting to people wanting or expecting privacy on the balcony. We made the most of it and had a wonderful chat with a lovely roadie couple next door - whom we would not have met otherwise.

On a side note, we were in desperate need of a laundry, which is basic but functional and shared with the marina. This can present a challenge as it is not located in the main motel building, so you will either need to walk (a couple minutes around the marina), or drive to it. We discovered the suggested cycle times are not accurate, returning with what should have been at least 5-10 minutes left in the cycle, only to discover a boating couple had "kindly" removed our clothing from the machine dumping on a dusty bench, and "cleaned - up" bags we used to carry the laundry in (in other words threw them out), claiming the machine had finished and they thought someone had left rubbish.... To their credit, they did retrieve the bags mumbling what I like to believe was an apology....

This is NOT a criticism of The Moorings. Simply some friendly advice that if you need to use the laundry I recommend making the most of being on the waters edge and waiting at the laundry for machines to finish. There is a nice undercover seating area which makes for comfortable chill time while machines do their thing.

Carrabelle has all the charm of a small coastal township, but this also means some services can be basic, so be prepared for this particularly outside peak season.

Oh, dont forget to check out the Worlds Smallest Police Station. We drove passed it twice not realising it was their until a local told us about it!!

My mother and I stayed here for one night in room 114. The room was clean, spacious, but dated. I woke up numerous times with something crawling on my face, thought it might be a fly. When my mother woke up in the morning she commented that bugs were keeping her up, so I decided to look in my bed and I found a little brown bug. I put it in a baggie and took it to the office to let them know that we experienced crawling bugs. They gave us a 10% discount which was nice but am sure we will not go back since we did not sleep well. Cant speak to the breakfast since we ate elsewhere.
