My 8- and 10-year-old grandsons visit me in Carrabelle Beach twice a year. The Camp Gordon Johnson WWII Museum tops the 'To Do' list every time! Fishing, sand castles, kayaking, and eagle spotting can wait until later in the week. That's fine with me -- I learn something new each time I take them. The 1943 photo of landing craft and soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division training for their D-Day Utah Beach landing clearly shows the Crooked River Lighthouse in the background. The same lighthouse, the same beach, the same perspective as the view from our own back yard beach. We feel the legacy.
