We were so looking forward to a great German meal in a restaurant that local reviewers were giving grand reviews. The lack of parking is frustrating! The atmosphere is nice and the whole evening started off good with a great waitress. The menu is limited, but that was expected. The 209 caesar salad was excellent and so was the bread and spread. From this point on it went dramatically down hill! Two of us ordered the Sauerbraten and one the Schnitzel. I have never eaten Sauerbraten that resembled 'pulled beef' - the gravy that was poured over this was so salty that you could barely eat your meal. The red cabbage and spaetzle were OK, but not great. As for the Schnitzel, it was overcooked and tasted of old grease. Not impressed at all. When we received our $125.00 bill we did mention to the watiress that the meals were extremely salty and could she please pass this on to the chef. She was gracious and gave us a $10.00 gift certicate to compensate, however I am sure that we will never return due to our initial experience.
Perhaps, we choose a bad night to dine here, but I am sure that we wll never return as 'first impressions' are everything;!
