“Quick Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

We booked one night before our Disney Cruise. Highly recommend this hotel for park and cruise. Checked in quickly, friendly staff, our room was simple but clean and spacious. We didnt' use the pool but it looked very nice. Mini Golf right next door. Radisson's Shuttle was a great service. When we returned from our cruise, the shuttle was waiting for us and took us directly to our parked car.

Room Tip: First floor rooms with outside access-noisy with people walking by dragging suitcases.

excellent location, excellent amenities, excellent facilities for park and cruise, clean, excellent pool, staff very professional and helpful - answered all questions, rates competitive with other motels in area - will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: by word of mouth - best advertising - not disappointed - excellent room

This Radisson's Park & Cruise deal was an absolute bargain for us and the quality with which everything was delivered made our trip even more enjoyable. A party of 4, we stayed in a 1-bedroom suite which was spacious and clean. The pool area and surrounding walkways were pleasant and well-kept. Our room rate covered only 2 of the 4 breakfasts and shuttle runs but the additional costs were minimal. The busy front desk staff was courteous and accommodating. The restaurant cook staff was amazing, remembering who was waiting for waffles without making you stand there while everyone else in your party eats. Reliable shuttle service and parking were delivered as promised and by the most courteous and helpful staff. The only thing I will comment on is that the only bathroom in the suite was in the bedroom and was quite small, which could be awkward for some groups but is a small detail for others. Do yourself a favor. Book the Park & Cruise package and worry about passports and device chargers instead of getting to the port.

We stayed recently for a mini-vacay as we are residents in Brevard County but nice to get out of your routine and enjoy some pool time. I used Carlson's points for a two night mid-week stay in the king suite that has an in-room Jacuzzi (on third floor - room 226).

We got there a little after 2pm and had no issue checking in early (check-in is listed as 4pm) which was much appreciated. The receptionist also gave a me a coupon for 2 drinks at their bar for being a Carlson member which was also appreciated. It started raining after we got the SUV unloaded so we made ourselves some drinks and settled into the living room area for some cards while listening to some music. I am glad that I went for the suite as the extra space was nice to have, especially since we spent part of the time in the room.

Room Positives:
+ Nice size room; good size fridge for drinks and sink in kitchenette area; very spacious in-room Jacuzzi (enough room for 2); abundant toiletries; housekeeping did a nice job of keeping it clean; abundant & large pillows and comfortable duvet; ceiling fans in bedroom and living room area which are great masking noise and moving the air around; a very good A/C system that kept the room very comfortable

Room Negatives:
- Sleep number bed was horrible! My wife was very excited to try it before the trip as we need to replace our mattress at home. Needless to say, we will not be getting one for home. It felt very hard and no matter the adjustment, it didn't seem to change
- Walls are paper thin - the second night we got to hear a couple come in at 3 am in the adjacent suite and kept us up for a little while with their conversation until they got settled in for bed
- No outside balcony

Resort Property Positives:
+ Very nice pool area with 2 waterfalls and cool rock structure to add to the unique with an abundance of chairs and pool towels; there were a lot people of using the area but it never felt that crowded as large and as spread out; the waterfalls make a nice calming noise which cancels out some of the kids play noise
+ Tiki Hut Pool area bar - full service bar and food; we brought our own cooler but a lot of people where taking advantage of it.
+ Very good location being only about a mile from the Port where there are several good restaurants and bars to sit outside and enjoy the cool ocean breeze, some good food, and adult drinks. Even being close to the Port, you are still only about 5 miles from some of the major tourist area (Ron Jon, Coconuts on the Beach, Cocoa Beach Pier); about 1 mile from a public access beach area/parking lot

Resort Property Negatives:
- While the pool area was well maintained as was the main reception area, other parts of the property were not as maintained or clean. In our building (3 story one to the right of the main entrance building), the carpet was massively stained and worn. While housekeeping did a great job in the room, the hallway was dirty and stuff was on the floor the entire 2 days we were there. the also do not air condition their hallways in the buildings so it was like a sauna when you were walking to your room.
- Some common areas (hallways and star wells) reeked of cigarette smoke. The property is listed as 100% smoke-free but they have areas for people to smoke as evident by the cigarette receptacles that are placed just outside doorways. The smoke as you walk through those areas can be a little overwhelming and my wife refused to walk down the stairs from our room because of it and instead waited for the elevator which was farther away from the room

Overall, we had a good stay and spent the bulk of the second day pool side. If able to give half-ratings, it would have been a 3.5 instead of a 3.The room was plenty large enough of for the two of us and we enjoyed using the in-room Jacuzzi. We would probably stay there again based on the pool area and good physical location but encourage the management to freshen up and better maintain some of the areas (i.e. carpet in the hallway).

Some good places to eat:
Florida's Seafood Bar & Grill - good seafood and HUGE portions (we brought back leftovers and stored in fridge for lunch the next day cold)
Taco City - good Mexican meals; very reasonably priced with good size portions and cold beer
Simply Delicious Cafe & Bakery - for breakfast or lunch; very good breakfast and excellent service
Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar at the Port - great location to sit outside by the water having some food & drinks while listening to music; stick with the appetizers (we like the fish dip and the bacon wrapped scallops)

We stayed at the Radisson prior to going to a cruise to the Bahamas. Drove for 11 hours and the hotel room was all in nice shape and ready for use and we relaxed prior to our departure. The pool and breakfast area were an added bonus as well as the parking lot where we left our vehicle while cruising.

Room Tip: We did well with the extra sized room with the jet tub.

This Radisson Resort at the Port (Port Canaveral) left me with something/s to be desired..But did provide a roof over my family's head prior to our cruise.

Pros:

- Good Location: places to eat, shop, Express mini-mart/gas all nearby.(many places in walking distance)
- Check in/out went well
-Shuttle service to/from port
-Parking about $40 for the week.
- Pool with waterfall and Tiki Bar
- Free Wi-Fi offered (I used 4G)
-FYI: Paid $120 (Expedia)

**No complaints about customer service, they all did a good job-Thank you.
*Probably more amenities offered that I did not take advantaged of.

Cons:
-The room needed updating. (maybe update carpet, paint/wallpaper/furniture, update to flat screen tv

-Cabinetry available for refrigerator and microwave with electrical outlet, BUT those two items were not in the room. (It was obviously available one time in that room. You may want to rip it out if you are not going to use the cabinetry/space).

-one of the "Number Beds" did not work. (maybe I should have notified them to give them a chance to remedy the issue, but I didn't-I did have a roof over my head :-) ).

-the bed/mattress was adequate, but pillows were not firm enough for me. ie. very flimsy like a towel

*I did no due diligence prior to my reservation. This Radisson was recommend by a friend. There are more + than -, but I did expect a little more from a Radisson.
*I did look at Radisson Resort at the Port webpage following my stay. The pictures and description are accurate. (pictures are most likely their most upgraded room, my room was not upgraded.)

**I will look for alternatives, but this Radisson Resort At The Port may be the best choice/value. (many good reviews overall, just giving others some info on what I thought)

The room was clean and had a big bathroom. We had a king size bed, ceiling fan, and easy to set and control central type heating and cooling system. Great pool and a fair restaurant. For an added fee you can park your car there and take a shuttle to the port for a cruise. We have stayed here three times in the past. Will stay here again. Our only complaint was the lady that controls the shuttle was short, rude to people and kept an attitude. That is not the job for her.
