We stayed one night at this resort pre Disney Cruise. We arrived around 1pm, and our room wasn't quite ready yet, but we checked in and were free to use the pools until we could check in. They called me on my cell phone when the room was ready. Our 2 bdroom condo was absolutely gorgeous! Very clean and beautifully decorated. My parents stayed in the master bedroom that had a jetted tub and their own balcony overlooking the pools. We had the bedroom with 2 beds for us and our kids.

We swam all day and into the early evening. My 3 year old son loved the zero entry water plan area! He had sooo much fun. Unfortunately, around 1:30am I heard him suddenly throw up. He threw up alot! I don't know if it was something from the pool or if he caught something just before we flew down and it finally hit then, but it was massive. I gave him a bath while my husband called the front desk. They quickly got us new bed linens so we were able to get him back to sleep after his bath. Also, my daughter accidentally broke a glass. We reported it, but they did not charge us for it.

My only complaints are that they should have some complimentary coffee in the units. Who wants to go buy coffee? They should also have some plastic glasses so as to eliminate young kids from breaking them. And, I'd recommend more luggage carts or something. On the morning of our checkout, not one cart was available from 8-10am. I think that other people staying there were letting them sit idle in their rooms or something because I find it hard to believe not one would be returned in 2 hours. But other than these few things, the condos were fabulous and we'd definitely stay there when/if we go back to Cape Canaveral. And, we were not asked to sit through any sort of timeshare presentation so that was great!

Wow! This place is b-e-a-utiful! I arrived at Ron Jon Resort with my family and friends. First thing you notice, a tall water fountain right in the middle of the lobby. Tropical and pinapple scents fill the entire hotel. Our room was spectacular. Spacious and clean even between the cracks! The pool is huge and no matter how many people in it, it's always NEVER crowded. The hot tub has three diffrent sections so that you could have your own little conversation with your family. For kids, this is a treat! There is a huge waterpark right outside your window. Compleate with tall slide, kiddy area, and a lazy river! This place is perfect for any ages! Everyday there is a new activity planned from hair braiding, sandoller painting, even scuba lessons for an affodable price on the hotel grounds! Inside there is a movie theater with a giant screen so you can have the comfort of a night out, without starting the car. If you want to have a delicious dinner and don't feel like cooking. Don't worry! The Ron Jon Resort's in-hotel-restraunt has food that you'll wanna save room for desert! The Kid's Place is great for even preteens who still wanna have some childlike fun. With colored slides, ball pit, and a clown who makes balloon things such as SpiderMan! He's very talented. The miniture put-put golfing still keeps the tropical theme with surf boards by the hole! The ocean is just a quick 30 second shuttle ride unless if your at the ocean side building, you just take 5 steps outside. I'm telling you do NOT pass up this place! You'll never want to leave, but will wanna return! =]

“Perfect Place For the Family Swim Vacation”

This was the perfect spot for the late summer family swim vacation that we wanted.

The grounds and amenities and activities at the resort are great. There is a nice large swimming pool with a waterfall, a lazy river, a baby pool full of fountains, a 50 foot waterslide, and a hot tub. Clearly something for everyone and believe me that everything (except maybe the hot tub) was well used. Our 10-year old loved the waterslide. Our 5-year old loved the lazy river. Our 2-year old loved the baby pool. And everyone loved the main pool and the waterfall. There is even live music (family friendly)right next to the pool during the lunch hour.

The beach was great as well. The water was so warm and the waves were
gentle, but big enough for some boogie boarding. The sand was fine and clean. It was perfect.

The restaurant at the resort had great food, including a number of VERY kid friendly items (both in price and product). In fact, this place was a kid paradise. Miniature golf on site, free movies running all day in a little theater on the grounds, a huge free indoor climbing gym, activities like face painting, crafts, treasure hunts, and animal shows - all on site!! This is really a very family oriented place and we appreciated that. There was far more offered than we even had time to take advantage of.

We stayed in a two bedroom condo in the main building. The condo was spacious and clean and comfortable and well decorated and a pleasure to spend time in. We had a nice view overlooking the pool, with the ocean on the horizon and a view of the cruise ships coming to and leaving port. Very nice. It was a short walk (or free tram ride) to the beach and smaller each building. The tram runs pretty constantly all day.

We had a pretty good routine going. Breakfast and play in the A.M. in the condo, then down to the pool for a couple of hours. Then lunch and a nap for the 2-year old while the rest of us read or napped or watched a DVD in the player that is provided. In the afternoon, we would go down to the beach and play in the ocean. Then back for clean up, out to dinner or exploring in the Cocoa Beach area, etc.

We took one boat ride along the river that was very nice. We went into Orlando for Disney World one day (and that was enough). We had no rain until the last day. We had a couple of awesome lightning storms at night (and one during the last day).

The Ron Jon shop in nearby Cocoa Beach was quite fun. Open 24 hours with every bit of beach wear and accessories you could want. It is boasted as one of the largest in the country and I believe it. I even went there from midnight to 2am one night after everyone was asleep so I could poke around unencumbered.

Highly recommended for families looking for a swim vacation.

We rented a one bedroom suite (at ~$180 night) in the pool building and were very happy that we got an end unit (which means additional light and view in the living area, kitchen, and bedroom). This was the cleanest and nicest place we've stayed in. I would not stay in the ocean building. There is a view of the ocean, but the beach appears to have never been combed as it is loaded with all kinds of seaweed; there is seawood in the shallow part of the water in the sand; there is no lifeguard--our children (15 & 18) would not go in the water. The ocean building would give a guest more privacy as all activities, the convenience store (with same prices as a regular grocery store), movie theater, restaurant, tiki bar, pool (the wrist bands are no big deal), hot tub, lazy river (is the best--my favorite vacation part), water slide & game room are a tram ride (which runs continuously) away in the pool building. It's easy to run up to your room and back down again in the pool building. The parking garage is next to the pool building. The pool building is about 1,500+ ft from the beach. Jetty Park is next door but is $5 to enter; a lifeguard is available; in the heat it was necessary to drive there. The beach there is full of seawood and dead cucumber fish. If it's the beach you're going for, go to Daytona (we could never find a great hotel there though!) where it is nice and clean and no sanddunes. The condo is perfect & has all amenities-even a washer/dryer--however, guests need to "trade in" their towels in laundry and empty their trash down a chute, when needed. There are activities for all (cash bingo, name that tune, teen dance, family game night) everyday. Something for everyone. Live music or piped in music is played all day in the pool area, not really loud-very nice. It would not be necessary to leave the premises for several days, if relaxation is key. However, going south into Cocoa Beach, you must try the Florida Seafood Restaurant which is near the Ron Jon Store down the road a few miles (which is open 24 hours a day). Portions enough for 2-3 people. Next time, we will go at the beginning of our trip, so we can enjoy the leftovers in our suite the next day! A great place. A great vacation at the Ron Jon. We only received a call to get our "timeshare" gift but never went to pick it up; no hassles. If I could afford a timeshare, this would be the place! We received a phone call after checking out to ask how we liked the Ron Jon and what could they do better. Employees always greeted us everywhere on the premises throughout our stay. That's great customer service! We never smelled any fumes from cruise ships in the pool building/area. A heartily recommend this place--from a choosy person. It is a 45-minute drive from Disney World. Enjoy!

A great timeshare but reccomend that you DO NOT attend the timeshare sales meetings. They are really, really good and you will buy something. I suspect that as they sell off all of the pieces in so many unique manners that you will have a hard time gettting the weeks you want.

The resort is great but your better off renting....if you want to but a timeshare, buy a resale off of ebay with your money in escrow until you know you have it.....don't buy direct.

The play area here and the activities are great!

The pool, slide and lazy river are great!

The ocean view building isn't as accessible since it is probably 1/4 mile from the pool and you don't want to be on the ground floor here since there are bushes that will block your view.

The beach is very nice!

The area around the hotel is OK... this is blue collar surf town that will probably turn as real estate continues to rise. Your resturuants are a grade level below what you might find in Orlando and are more local. You have to drive to everything.

The only negative I can put on the hotel is that when the ships leave the port, you are breathing in diesel fuel for a couple hours...it is right next door.
