“Tons of fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

There is so much to do there. Pool, lazy river, waterslide and all kinds of sports. It is located right beside the Cape Canaveral port so you can watch the cruise ships go out. We enjoyed seeing the Disney Cruise Ship from our balcony in the beachfront and beach view rooms. I think there was a new employee at the desk. He didn,t have the best customer service attitude but the woman with him was very nice. Did not see a breakfast place on site but lunch was good by the pool. The place was expensive but very nice.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the pool were very beautiful at night.

We stayed in an oceanfront room April 21 thru 25. We were comfortable with 7 adults and one child in the 2 bedroom villa. It is only a short walk to the pool or there is a tram that can be used. The beach is gorgeous, no lifeguard, but water depth is great for children with no huge dropoff. There is a path that can be taken just in front of oreanfront rooms that will lead u to the paved path that goes to jetty park. There u will find a long fishing pier and bait shop. We were able to also see sea turtles here in the water. This is a great place to watch cruise ships and the sunset. The pool is huge and we also enjoyed the lazy river and slide. The restaurant and tiki bar are top notch. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 and drinks much cheaper. The Cove is about a mile away and has restaurants such as fishlips and rustys. There is also a fish market and keylime pie store.
The service at the resort was great and we had no complaints. We were able to check in early and it only took a few minutes. We had no problems with finding space at the pool this time of year and the weather was perfect all week!!!!!

My family of 5 enjoyed this resort very much during our spring break. The resort has so many things for kids to do that they will probably not want to leave it. Ron Jon offers a mini waterpark pool area with a lazy river, pool slide and splash area. It can be tough to find a lounge chair when it's very busy so it helps to get to the pool early. Our building was near the pool area, there is another building that is beachfront, so depending on what you prefer would determine your choice. That said, the beach is a short less than 10 min walk or you can hop on the trolley which leaves every 15 min. The beach is lovely wide and uncrowded. The hotel itself has a bright and cheery tropical theme. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa which had two double beds and a pullout couch. We pretty much had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. The bathroom was a little small, but we survived, lol. It was fun being able to watch the cruise ships sail in and out of port. There are many activities offered for the family at the resort, there is also a restaurant, a sundries/souvenir shop and a coffee stand that serves coffee and pastries till about 1 in the afternoon. One thing of note I stayed at this resort through a DVC/RCI exchange and they informed me at the desk that this resort would no longer be Ron Jon, but was sold and would be a Holiday Inn Express. What this will mean remains to be seen. Overall if you are in this area I would recommend this resort particularly if you have kids.

Room Tip: Choose a building based on what you prefer to be close to either the beach or the pool.

The good: 1. Great family resort. 2. Room was newly renovated and very nice. The bed was awesome. 3. Pool is right at the resort and they had different events that the whole family could participate in. 4. Fish sandwhich at restaurant was killer.

The not so good: 1. Having to wait to check in. Check in is not until 4:00 or after and they stick to it. Check out is at 10:00 and they dont allow late check outs. The guy told us this twice and highlighted it. 2. Get to beach early. They ran out of chairs while we were there. 3. This place is expensive for not being directly on the beach. We paid over 300.00 for our Saturday night stay and upper 200's for week night. The beach is about a 10 minute walk but they do have a trolley to take you there. 4. Parking garages were poorly designed so parking can take a while to find a spot. 5. You cant use your room key to get in fitness center. You have to go to front desk to get a key.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor or above on pool side.

We are guests at Ron Jon Resort for the first time for Spring Break with our children. Two families with 4 adults and 3 grade school kids.

The resort is a kids paradise. Indoor playground. Amazing pools with lazy river and awesome slide. There is a game room and arcade which we did not use.

Rooms in oceanfront building are clean and appear recently renovated. The lobby however smelled like bug spray. Agree with prior reviews, ask for higher room on 4th or 5th floor if you want a view. We had requested but did not receive ocean view room. We were on 2nd floor with view of trees. Great shuttle service between buildings.

Front desk is attentive and friendly but slow. Understaffed. Restaurant pricey as is the bar but food is decent bar food.

A great place if you have kids. We did not and felt a little over run by them. Great pool but the kids took over ever space and I ended up in a little cubby hole away from any water. Would love to have had an adults pool. I normally love being around kids but I was clearly outnumbered. Do NOT go on the timeshare sales pitch. It really put a sore note in our visit. They were charming until we ask to think about it and suddenly they were so mean to us. I could give you the sales ladies name but I'm sure the others had the same sales pitch and then attitude. We were checking out the place as a possible place to meet family each year, we decided against it after we were treated so rudely. The BEST thing about this place is the restaurant at the resort. I saw a lot of people passing it by and they don't know what they are missing!!! The waiter and waitress were super and the food delicious. Some of the best food we ate on the whole trip!! Only wish they had served breakfast.

Room Tip: Go for a lower floor. Everything is on the lowest floor.

We used a friend's timeshare last year (July 2013) and fell in love with this place. My parents went along (who are in their 70's) and they loved sitting on the ocean front balcony watching the cruise ships. There are so many activities that you never have to leave the resort. We took advantage of the tram to go from our oceanfront building to the pool, lazy river and waterslide. Besides cooking in our condo kitchen, we visited the resort restaurant, which had great food at a decent price. We will be traveling down for our second stay the beginning of next month. I've been counting down the days until I can rest, relax and enjoy all that Ron Jon's resort has to offer.
