“Repeat visitors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

We took two of our children and their children to this resort 2 years ago and loved it. My youngest daughter (who couldn't travel when we went) visited last year with her husband and two children and also loved it. We are all returning this July and cannot wait! Great resort, no room for boredom at all! This resort has it all. We will once again stay in an ocean front condo and, frankly, enjoy the short walk to the main pool area which features non-stop entertainment for children and adults alike. My husband and I have stayed at several other Cocoa Beach inns/hotels, but Ron Jon's will always be our resort of choice from now on. We look forward to when we can align schedules so that all of our children and grandchildren can visit at the same time!

I have to admit that my wife and I were skeptical going into this experience. We wanted a hassle free vacation that we could just chill out with the kids and have plenty to do without breaking the bank. Ron Jon exceeded those expectations and we had a great time.

First of all, we didn't realize this was a timeshare facility until after we had made our reservations online. Two weeks after making those reservations we received a notice about sitting through a RCI timeshare presentation. We weren't interested and didn't sit through the presentation during our stay. We were only asked about doing it once during our stay so we weren't hassled.

The resort was easy to find and the check in experience was fast. They have plenty of luggage carts to get baggage to the room. The room was fantastic! We had a 2B/2Ba that was spacious for our family. It had a kitchen, washer and dryer and nice deck, though we were looking at a street. The TVs were nice in the room and everything was well done.

The kids loved the free mini-golf onsite. The pool was a nice temperature, had a convenient bar that many people were taking advantage of. The lazy river was fantastic. The hot tub was spacious and very warm! I have been to many water parks in my life and their water slide is killer fast! It really is a great slide. The kids loved the indoor playground, which made me wish I could have been of age to play in it with them. The age limit is 12 for the playground and I know some of the kids in there were older than that, but I couldn't really blame them for wanting to play in there! If there had been problems with the older kids there is no doubt the resort would have addressed it.

We also were able to take advantage of the nightly activities for the kids and they loved it. The first was the magic show which was well done and the next night was a wildlife show with real reptiles and other native animals. The kids loved all the activities and it was a good change of pace from being in the water.

We ate at the onsite restaurant one night, but primarily cooked in our room. There is a Publix grocery store about 5 miles from the hotel. The Ron Jon Surf Shop is about the same distance and with your hotel key you get a 15% discount, which was useful for some shopping we did.

The only reason we didn't give it a perfect rating is that getting to the beach is a bit of a hassle. They do offer a tram that comes by every fifteen minutes. Without kids you can walk to the beach in less than 15 minutes, but it is a little far from the main complex. There is one building on the beach that seems to offer beach views, but I'm confident those are all timeshares. The kids loved the beach and the distance didn't ruin our mood. I also had issues with some of the keycard readers which made it inconvenient getting in/out of some doors, especially when going back and forth to the car for certain items (parking is free).

Overall, we had an awesome time. We barely left the property, which really helped us relax. We thought the value was great for the price we paid for the room. We would definitely stay here again on a rental basis.

This place has it all! Convenience, fun things for all, good food, huge rooms.........
We took our 13 year old last year and had a blast! She loved being able to watch a movie in the theatre by herself while we strolled the beach. We played the mini golf course every evening after dinner. And we definitely took advantage of the location; close to KSC, Orlando (hour drive), Cocoa Beach, etc. We bought up everything at Cocoa Beach farmers market and had some GREAT homemade meals! The on-site restaurant is good too (try the spicy Bloody Mary, it will change your life!). Our only 2 complaints; the grills to use are too far away, by the time our grilled fish made it back to the condo it was barely luke warm. And 2 (and NOT the resort's fault) some kid pooped in the pool and closed the pool for 2 days. Not to mention some elder and her colostomy bag sat in the hot tub all one evening, we didn't get back in it after that for the rest of our trip. But man, the resort was ON TOP of getting all that cleaned up!!!!!! :o)

My husband and I just got home from spending a week at Ron Jon. It is conveniently located and near to Jetty Park, Jetty Campground, Kennedy Space Center and several restaurants on the water. We ate at the Ron Jon Surf Grille twice which was not all that impressive. We ate at Grills, Rusty's and Fishlips which is only a couple of miles away and on the water. We had great food at those places and beautiful views.

Our room was in the beachfront building. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the surf, cruise ships and the casino boat. We were also able to watch windsurfers, parasailers and kites. This building is quieter than the buildings by the pool because of the noise from the pool. If you can't walk a distance than you would need to take the shuttle (it will pick you up in front of the building and it goes to the pool/restaurant and office or drive up to the pool because it's about a six or seven minute walk. It is also a bit of a walk to the beach on a boardwalk. We found it easy. The room was clean and looked like it had been updated recently. The living room furniture is not comfortable and if there were more than two people, I'm not sure how everyone would sit comfortably in that room. The master bath looks like it could use a little updating but it was fine. The guest bath was just as nice except it didn't have a jacuzzi tub, only a shower. The guest bedroom is very nice with two double beds.

The balcony is fairly large with a table and four chairs and a lounge chair. The lounge chair is plastic and uncomfortable so if you're driving, bring a sleeping bag or something soft to put on top of it.

The only issue we had is the first few mornings, the man upstairs would come out on the balcony to talk on the phone and we could listen to the whole conversation. I would say that's more of an issue with the man not the building. After he left, kids came in so it was a little more noisy from them playing right under our balcony and from chairs scraping across the floor upstairs. At 5:00 AM one morning, some people were walking by below us and they were speaking very loudly which woke me up.

The pool area was usually noisy with lots of kids so if you wanted a peaceful time at the pool, there is no adult section where you can sit and read or nap.

There were plenty of activities throughout the week. We did not do any of them but there were plenty of movies, crafts and a couple shows, like a magic show and a comedy show. This definitely is a resort that plans around families more so than couples or singles.

To get into the beachfront building you have to use a key card to enter. Our key cards would not open the gate. We called up front a couple times and finally went to the office to have my husband's card re-keyed. It still didn't work. We talked to a shuttle driver and he told us that we have to leave the card in the key reader for three to four seconds for it to open the gate. Once we knew that, we could enter but it didn't always work the first time. Some times we had to swipe the card several times. Little did we know that when the office re-keyed my husbands card, it turned mine off so on the last morning I got locked out of my unit. Luckily my husband was there to let me in.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the ocean front building on the fourth or fifth floor.

Booked for just one night as we were holidaying in Orlando and wanted to visit Cocoa Beach! We booked a two bedroomed apartment for our family of two adults and two kids, and paid approx £130. The resort was easy to find, check in was quick and easy. Our apartment was a ground floor one with access to the beach via the boardwalk off the verandah. It was very spacious and well decorated, with all the amenities we expected. The resort had lots of activities for both kids and adults. Our children loved the on site Water park and huge hot tub, which was an amazing 104F, very toasty! We didn't have time to visit the on site cinema or play mini-golf,shame.
We loved the easy access to the beach, where we saw dolphins playing in the surf and watched a huge cruise ship pass by.
The on-site shop was very well stocked like a mini-mart!
When you check in your security door key card gives you 20%off in the main Ron Jon Shop when you spend over $50! Bargain!
We loved this place and would definitely recommend it,and next time we are in Florida we will stay for longer.

Stayed a week mid February. While the weather was so-so, the resort was terrific as usual. Spent many mornings walking the beach and afternoons at the pool. The restaurant was great and used it several times. As an owner I maybe expect more and they always come thru.

Room Tip: Try for a pool view.

Our family of six just returned from the best trip ever. We stayed at Ron Jon's Cape Caribe in Cape Canaveral. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. So many things for the kids to do including a movie theatre, great waterpark and tonnes of planned activities. The staff was super friendly and the resort was immaculate. As a mom of four my favourite feature of the room was the washer and dryer....lol. Best family resort ever!

Room Tip: As a family of six the suite was so worth it!
