“Decent place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

Prime rib was pretty good. Guess for a seafood place you can't always get great beef! service was a little slow but not too bad. Piano player was a little loud. Conch appetizer was not great. A lot of filler. Location is pretty nice.

“Will return despite drawbacks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2012

This is a large place. Lot's of seating. Inside is attractive but cavernous...acoustics are not good. Outside can be wonderful but lighting makes menu reading a challenge. Bring a flashlight. And don't be startled when the cruise ship (that is the size of a small town) slides by and rattles the plates on your table with it's horn. It's either exciting or irritating. You choose.

We had grilled mahi which was a little overcooked (overcooking fish in FL seems to be a pattern) and a little over seasoned (another pattern...I want to taste the fish). It was tasty however. And offering just one side dish with your entree seems a bit lame.

The service was...well...unique. Waitress was very efficient and full of energy. So much so that we found our selves with another round of drinks for the table before we could actually decide we wanted them...I guess she could be called assertive. That being said, she managed our table very nicely as well as a huge demanding party right next to us.

We were there mid-week. One guy on a guitar...not bad. I guess I would like this place better if it was quieter (how about some easy background music to soothe my digestion instead of the ubiquitous rock and roll?). Cook the fish more like Grilles, let me see the menu.

All that being said, it is an attractive place and a nice setting. We'll give it another shot.

“Don't go there! It's horrendous.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2012

The position may be OK but it goes downhill from there.
The service was very average.
Starters were nice, not special but ok. However that is when the pressure really took hold. We have heard of the saying 'keep it moving' .
Our waitress must have won awards as no sooner had we taken a few mouthfuls of our starter than the main course arrived. As the plates lined up and the table became smaller we pointed out the obvious problem to which the waitress said she could take our main course back and keep it warm. Not a great option! We thought at this point we still had choices until the starters we were now shoving in as fast as we could to make space were taken out of our hands and whisked away! We were so shocked we thought perhaps we were being filmed. Having recovered we moved on. The food was lukewarm. The fries were soggy and cold, the steak was nice but small. The salad was, for the money very disappointing. The vegetables had to be sent back ( totally over-cooked & only just warm) but by the time the fresh replacement vegetables arrived the meal was over.
The restroom were filthy and there was a lot of food over the restaurant floor.
We called over the manager who told us she had lot's of complaints that night and offered us a discount on the bill. To add insult to injury this amounted to $20 on a bill of $150 - not good enough!
We ended up with a $40 discount after a lot of arguing. I do read reviews before I visit restaurants especially when, as on this occasion we were taking visiting friends from the UK. This review is not made up, all the content is true.
We will never go to Millikins Reef again and if you don't want poor service, poor food and a big bill, you WILL think twice about a visit.

“Best Oysters, great wine selection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

We always make it a point to go to millikans reef to eat every time we stay in Cocoa Beach. What a great spot it is! Located at the end of the port, water front, where all the restaurants are located. It has it all. Great food, vast menu selection for a good variety of many types of food, not just sea food. Great wine selection and out door entertainment and a bar in the sand. They host live music and treat their customers great. We've never been disappointed. We've been going there since 2006. It's one of our favorite spots!
