Visited the attraction today , fantastic location and lots to do , it's such a shame the staff ( not all of them ) were rude and ignorant , perhaps we have been over indulged recently by visiting Disney and universal. A smile and approachable manner costs nothing ! Having said that the angry birds area was lovely but in general the attraction was expensive to enter and we left feeling disheartened.

“Experience of a lifetime.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

If space, science, history, and learning doesn't interest you, skip this tour. If it does, read on.....

We went on the special vehicle assembly building bus tour (additional cost). That huge (sits on 8 acres) building from which every rocket and shuttle ever launched fom Cape Canaveral was assembled and then transported to its laugh pad. All I can say is WOW!! What an experience. The building is mind blowing. Our guide was a wealth of information - and quite a character!

We also did the (extra cost) 'Dine with an Astronaut' where they provided a buffet lunch and an inspirational speech by an astronaut (in our case, Marcos Pontes - the first Brazillan Astronaut). We got photos, autographs with him etc.

The Atlantis exhibition is very well done and very dramatic. The way it is angled, and the two storey nature of the buiding, you can see every angle of the vehicle top and bottom. An incredible sight. The launch simuation is also very good - the kind of quality ride which would not be out of place at a theme park.

Outside of that, you see loads of rockets - including a Saturn 5 rocket up close, loads of exhibits is the museum. There are two IMAX films to watch, you can walk on the actual gangway which the Apollo 11 astronauts used to walk into their capsule before launch.

With all the extras, yes not cheap, but very worth it for me and my family. Life is about experiences. This is an eperience we will not forget.

Note: bring camera with VERY wide angle lens 10-12mm minimum.

A fabulous experience in a well-run facility. If you've any interest in space exploration and its history it's well worth the hour's drive from Orlando.
