We had heard a lot about of The Whistle and Flute and decided to go the other day. We were amazed at the quality of the food, the atmosphere and prices. Beautiful food, if you are ever in the area don’t miss it, gem of a place!

“What a fantastic Place, Amazing food & Service! We love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

My partner and I regularly visit the Whistle & Flute (more than 10 times we have been actually) and every time the food, the service and the atmosphere are just outstanding. The restaurant is really busy and you can see why, the food is absolutely fantastic. All the staff are always polite, smiley and helpful, nothing seems too much.
The rooms are up to date, clean, fresh with great facilities. They have a great outside seating area too, which is fab when the sun is shining.
Often when we go they have brilliant live entertainment on and the bar is busy, with a great vibe, by the end of the night everyone is dancing. You never see any trouble here and it really is one of our favourite places to go. I would recommend this venue over and over again to anyone looking for a nice meal and quality entertainment, a couples night out and stay over or a quite romantic meal in the week. (make sure you have the breakfast too if you stay, as it is 5 star)!

“Lost some of its sparkle?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

Have visited this place once or twice a year for a decade or more and left a little disappointed this time.

We've always regarded the W&F as one of the best choices for an affordable meal out, in an area not over blessed with decent venues.

Not sure if the management has changed recently but the attention to detail was lacking and the food was not brilliant. Nothing much to complain about, but just about ok.

The starter platter was bulk over taste and the main courses lacked some of the finesse that used to set this place apart.

For the same budget, the Marrowbone and Cleaver in Kirmington or the White Hart in Brigg are a better bet in my opinion.

Extensive menu with very good food. We all had different meals freshly cooked to order and every meal choice was excellent. Average prices. We will return.
