Went to this place on April 10, my wife's birthday. Sure, the gift shop on the way in looks a little tacky and takes away from the main purpose of the place, but the service (Kevin, thanks) was first rate, and the views are absolutely sensational. The live music (one bloke, guitar and background tape) was OK, even played Galway Bay (my wife's favourite) which was a surprise as we would have settled for anything Irish. He needn't have called it an "Irish ditty, now for something different" afterwards, but hey.
The food was very nice, reasonably priced, arrived on time, and the kids were given something to do. Usual beachfront fare, shrimp, chicken etc. but very nice. The birthday dessert was accompanied by a birthday song thingy with all of the crew, they remembered her name, and the dessert must have been 2,000 calories on its own!
BUT, the main reason is to watch the sunset, which is like nowhere else. Quite a few people actually applauded the second it actually went down, which might sound a bit over the top, but you have to see it to believe it. Will definitely return and recommend.
